Hi,
i am still not sure wich army i want to choose, so i will post some list ideas here:
Isengard:
Suladan(with the dundelings with hields, close to grima to challenge that formations hero)
3x3 comp xbows, 2 with captains(in ruins or on hills near the center of the board)
2x3 comp warg riders with shields (sneaking on the flanks trough enemy lines to rearcharge them)
4 comp uruks with shields(on the sides of the dundelings and the great uruk formation)
grima(the formation wich is the closest to suladan)
saruman(in the xbows uruks, first turn close enough to the sappers to let them make a heroic move)
1x6 comp uruks with shields(in the middle of the field, with dundelings on the flanks)
2x4 comp dundelings, 1 with shields, the other with 2h's(on the flanks of the great formation, with suladan's formation searching for heroes to kill)
3 comp ghostly riders(close to grima)
sappers(one or two heroic moves into enemy lines)
4 comps uruk phallanx
Much improved troop choices over the first list, still think a few companies of Ruffians to beef up the numbers would be a good idea. What I don't understand is why you have removed Thrydan and Amdur for Suladan and grima, great for your spirit heavy Angmar but why are they in an Isengard force?
Thrydan leading your shielded Huscarls, it bread and butter for a Dunland formation, and the one time when Thrydan isn't just cheese. Amdur is only 15 points more than Suladan, in with your 2H Huscarls, Strengh 5 epic rage with 2 handed weapons is deadly.
Grima is not worth his points in this list. Also 3 companies of ghostly riders
they will be shot down straight away, there are far better Isengard troops to spend that 180 points on.
The hard trick with this force is to combine the attacking units wargs, Dunland, sappers with the defence xbow uruks, if you can this will be a nice force.
