Hi, i am still not sure wich army i want to choose, so i will post some list ideas here: Isengard: Suladan(with the dundelings with hields, close to grima to challenge that formations hero) 3x3 comp xbows, 2 with captains(in ruins or on hills near the center of the board) 2x3 comp warg riders with shields (sneaking on the flanks trough enemy lines to rearcharge them) 4 comp uruks with shields(on the sides of the dundelings and the great uruk formation) grima(the formation wich is the closest to suladan) saruman(in the xbows uruks, first turn close enough to the sappers to let them make a heroic move) 1x6 comp uruks with shields(in the middle of the field, with dundelings on the flanks) 2x4 comp dundelings, 1 with shields, the other with 2h's(on the flanks of the great formation, with suladan's formation searching for heroes to kill) 3 comp ghostly riders(close to grima) sappers(one or two heroic moves into enemy lines) 4 comps uruk phallanx |

You have spent too many points on allies to the second list... It's illegal... |

I see you are using my idea of Grima as a Duskwratith. Also, I prefer Suladan to Thrydan as the King of Carn Dum. Quite a nice list, you could swap a ghostly legion for a spectral host to get the Tainted in there. With the Isengard list, give your crossbows captains. Also give your wargs shields. and swap one uruk shield fromation for a phalanx, not the big one. |

What I don't understand is why you have removed Thrydan and Amdur for Suladan and grima, great for your spirit heavy Angmar but why are they in an Isengard force? Thrydan leading your shielded Huscarls, it bread and butter for a Dunland formation, and the one time when Thrydan isn't just cheese. Amdur is only 15 points more than Suladan, in with your 2H Huscarls, Strengh 5 epic rage with 2 handed weapons is deadly. Grima is not worth his points in this list. Also 3 companies of ghostly riders they will be shot down straight away, there are far better Isengard troops to spend that 180 points on. The hard trick with this force is to combine the attacking units wargs, Dunland, sappers with the defence xbow uruks, if you can this will be a nice force. |

okay, first of all, my problem was that in much battle reports i read, they used much heroes, so with a -1 fight from grima and getting back a might point for slaying an enemy hero is great(i think so). but i agree with the amdur and thydran, maybe gonna change it. about defending the uruk xbows, as the best defence is attack, i gonna fight very offensive, so they can't charge the xbows, and because i will try to deploy them all on hills or in defensable structures, i will have some defence, and saruman will deal with them if they get too close, or i use a uruk formation(have enough of them to do that).thanx, and a question about the angmar list: should i make the spirit legions battle host fit in the army? |

oh, i don't like the shades, so i will not gonna make that list, never looked good at their profiles, but i think 100 points isn't good enough for only lowering fight, as they can't do much in combat |

mastermanje, shades can be quite good especially against powerful epics with epic strike, they are expensive in points but so is almost anything else in the Angmar list. About the Duskwraith, you won't find an actual model. I recommend the Twilight Ringwraith modfel with the outstretched arm, use clippers to cut off his crown and sword and make a little hood out of green stuff. Then 'paint it black'. |

okay, but i still don't like shades, and Gotmog, wath do you think of my change in the isengard list from thydran and amdur to grima and suladan(suladan chalenges the heroes in grima's formation) |

Personally, I think you could make either work. The Suladan/Grima requires a little work, whereas Thyrydan and Amdur are pretty straight forward. If you don't think that you'll be able to pull it off then take the straight forward ruite. IMO, if you think you can do something a bit different, all the better. There are plenty of Isengard and other players who go for the straight forward, that combo could work, so try it out. |

As Gothmog said... Shades are quite useful especally against the heroes( Not in combat!) I hope you will win to your very first battle... |

I don't think that's a bad way to go - though I like Carn Dum better in units of five as a hedge vs Str4 armies. A little shooting is always handy, though two Darkness Casters already helps quite a lot there. Cheers |
