Very well painted, the horns and claws look particularly good. Its hard to tell from the picture if you have given him eyes. If you like you could give him yellow eyes and a black pupil for each - sounds cheesy but mine looks decent (from a distance  )

Well, I have painted a few orcs and the Witch King of Angmar in the last couple of days and here they are. I am quite happy with them at the speed I painted them in as usually I take quite a while to paint but for now I am working on getting an army all painted up for gaming with.

So here they are:

I like what you've done with these dead men. I've just been repainting mine because they looked so dull and 'solid' using the Games Workshop paint scheme.

How did you do these? I gave mine a white undercoat then applied diluted green ink. I am now highlighting with white and giving the faces and hands some more colour with Rotten Flesh or whatever it's called.

Having the white as an undercoat gives the figures a brighter, more luminous and ghostly appearance.

Hopefully that can be explained if my article is accepted. It was pretty much along the lines of how you've explained you did yours however I didn't use the Rotting Flesh.

Thanks for your feedback guys :)

If I was to be totally hones I would say he is a little too green for my tastes but having never painted one yet I am not in a position to criticise so I will just say that is looking mighty fine young Jakey.

Thanks guys. I was going for a greener look to how I see most so I don't mind that you find him to look too green although it's a matter of opinion :) .

A face full of cunning!

EDIT: after seeing MuslimRohirrim's post, I think that if you wanted to be more film accurate RC you could maybe highlight more with Elf Flesh (+Fortress Grey?) to be in keeping with the Gríma look created by WETA; but it is perfectly OK if you keep it as it is.

Grima is looking prtty good so far, but if this is a diorama, I'd actually stay away from the drybrushing completely and try blending instead. I think you may want to put a little more variety into the colour choice as well, not so much as change the original scheme, but instead maybe just use different mixes of black.

Thanks for the feedback guys, after reading feedback I have decided to make the skin paler however meanwhile I have began another miniature.

This next chap is going to be Eomer and I have decided to take the base from Shelob in the LOTR Chess set for him. I am pretty happy with how it looks so far and I will begin the painting on him tomorrow or on Sunday depending on how things go...

Anyway:

Hmm should be interesting mate, not sure if the rock isn't a little big though it kind of Dwarfs Eomer a little.

I really think the rock is to big.. it makes Eomer look like an Infant

Very Nice though , It could look like he is overlooking the siege of helms deep from a rock near the keep .. very nice idea!

Liking the Orcs, the banner is sweet. And your minty fresh Warrior of the Dead.

Solid work mate.

Maybe the Rock is a little distracting however I was going for the effect of him standing on a large rock at the end of Helms Deep overlooking the Battlefield.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback and here is another update:
