Faramir

Theoden has already fought on the Pelennor and may "go to the halls of my fathers in whose mighty company I shall not now be ashamed" (sorry if quote is not accurrate). Faramir has yet to prove himself as steward of Gondor.

I would have saved Faramir for many reasons.

Firstly, Faramir is still young and Theoden is getting pretty old to be honest and Faramir has more ahead of him.

Theres no benefit to attempting to save Theoden. How would Gandalf be sure he wasn't hacked to little bits or dying (he already was) and also how on earth could Gandalf get down to Pellenor through all those Orcs/Mumakil/Ringwraith/Trolls/Ruined buildings/Fire/Wargs!? Faramir was closer and he trusted Pip enough to save him.

Faramir ftw! :D

I probably would have saved Faramir as well. Faramir turns out to be a much more influential character than Theoden was (from reading the Appendix)

Neither !!! If it wasn't for that damn meddling Wizard, I might have been there at the battle and took great pleasure in devouring both of those pathetic beings !

I would have saved Faramir, I think it was unfair that Denethor was going to burn him alive just becuase things were'nt going his way. I think Theoden's time had come, he knew that he wasn't going to return from the battle.

i like both faramir and theoden but if i had to chose i would choose faramir for he is probably one of my favorite characters plus eomer can take rohan and theoden wouldnt have lived much longer after that battle(if he didnt die in it) old age and sickness would have struck him and he would have died, while faramir would have lived many more years as he was olny in his 30s i would guess

I would save Faramir just for the fact that hes the last of the steward line and he fought bravely before the battle of the pellnor. Also heres the where Gandalf ad the Wizards fit in Tolkein's Universe.

1.Eru Illuvater-God figure
2.Ainur and Valar the Valar are the ones that kinda run Arda or the world example:Ulmo rules the waters they are kinda like Angels also the first Dark Lord Melkor/Morgoth fits in here.
3.Maiar-Lesser Angels from what I pick up all the Wizards,Balrogs and Saron fit here except the Wizards cannot use all their powers when in Wizard form by the order of the Valar who sent them.
There thats a rough explanaition of who the Maiar are if you read the Silmarillion its all pretty much explained in there.Felt a better explanation of things was needed.
