So i was on ebay (well can you blame me) and i see the two towers starter set from so many years ago :? so i got that part but then it says it has the box set which includes 12 RoR, 20 Uruks, the rulebook, ruins, but it also says 1 woodelf archer, and 3 uruk crossbows (plus a painting table But thats besides the point)

Anyway the point of this long ramble is: the set didnt originally have the elf and crosbows did it? :?

I'm pretty sure it only had RoR and Uruk-hai (no crossbows), but never bought the thing so...

By that time I think the only wood elves available were the old metal ones. The plastics are much more recent. Why would that box have a metal mini that has nothing to do with TTT?

Yup, no crossbowmen and no elves were originally in the set.

It was always the best value-for-money boxed set since it had essentially 3 boxes of miniatures (2 x cavalry + 1 x uruk-hai), unlike the FOTR and ROTK sets which only had 2 boxes worth of models.

For the two RoR and 1 Uruk box + 1 elf +3 xbows + some sort of table +out of date rulebook=would 60 US dolllars be worth it? (its the buy now price) hopefully only the 25 for winning auction though :o

Yeah...just the cost of the Riders, the Uruks and the crossbowmen alone is $90 (US) retail...I say go for it! 8)
