Really nice, Josh! The drybrushing on the rocks is really well done, I like the chasm! :-D

looks good

you could always have another single lane bridge over the chasm...that would look cool.

:)

Thanks for the comments guys. :)

A ricketty wooden bridge for the mines sounds nice, if I have any left over balsa I'll give it a try. :)

I'll second the bridge idea. Very tidy board mate, good job.

Thanks for the comments everyone. :)

I'll be sure to build that bridge for you, and I'll try to take a few more pics of the board as well.

Sadly, my Arnor projects have all come to a halt. The economy is still quite bad here, and money is very tight making a nearly all metal army like Arnor nearly impossible to collect. Instead I'll be turning my attentions to the Woodland Realms, collecting forces for Mirkwood, Dol Guldor and Lorien. I've got quite a few plans for terrain pieces for these armies that I look forward to constructing, but right now they're all in the planning stage.

I'll be sure to post all of my work here from now on, and will be changing this WIP into my general one instead of a more limited project. So, hopefully I'll begin work on the bridge soon and have some pics of my Wood Elves as well. :)

Edit:

Title and first post have been edited, and Collecting and Building Khazad-Dum, is now officialy Collecting and Building Middle-earth. :)

Hopefully I can finally finish my armies this time around.

Sorry, Michael. I'm too poor.

I hope to get back to collecting them eventually, as I still love the minis. Hopefully I'll have more money for the hobby next summer, as I can get a job then. But for now I'll try to stick to the woodland realms, Lorien, Mirkwood and Dol Guldor are all on my list. I have a lot of terrain projects planned - coughmallorntreescough -, and I've got some interesting ideas for the armies color schemes as well. I'm planning on painting my Galadhrim in a color scheme which reflects the Mallorn Tree, and my Wood Elves in a more forest like scheme then GW's.

BTW, I checked to see if I had any balsa wood left, but it seems I used the last of it up on my mine working. I'll be sure to head down to the hobby store and get some more some time this coming week. :)

It looks great so far, Josh! I really like the dark green cloak, mind sharing what colors you used? :?

Looking forward to updates :-D

EDIT: Just one little thing, it looks like you missed some of the boot on your basecoat :)

Thanks, Joshua. :)

I used Dark Angels Green as a basecoat. I then highlighted it by mixing in Snot Green untill it was an even mix of the two colors. For the last highlight I used a 75: 25 mix of Snot Green and Dark Angels Green. For shading, I watered down a mix of Chaos Black and Dark Angels Green and applied this into the folds of the cloak. :)

Nice wood elf Josh! the cloak looks great, you have done a great job on the blending!

I also think that small board that you finished looks great! it looks 10 times better painted 8)

Thanks for the comments, guys. :)

I did some more work on my Wood Elf, I painted his brown cloth. Truthfully, I'm not pleased with the result. I mixed in Vermin Brown into Schorched Brown for highlights, and it came out far to orange looking. I'll be using Bestial Brown in the future. I knew I should have listened to Rob.

I think it looks fine, maybe the pics are just too dark on my lame computer. :-X But I like it! 8)
