Very nice work! The skin and the armor look really nice, they both have a nice smooth finish for them. The bases look a little flat though, perhaps an extra drybrush would help the bases?

thanks for the comments longbottom leaf, please more comments from everybody!

anyway, my painting technique for the bases is this:
1. paint sand charadon granite
2. drybrush graveyard earth
3. drybrush kommando khaki,
4. add dead grass, paint rim graveyard earth

do you guys think i should do a final highlight of bleached bone?

any way thanks all

I think that all your models look really natural.

I think that a final dry brush of bleached bone of their bases would be a good
idea. (its always been great for my Dwarfs) :-D

@ gaarew

I really like the captain with the polearm/axe, since there was an uruk like that in the movie about to kill boromir. :D

Anyway, i'm considering either a dwarf army or isengard (whichever... i can paint better/easier). Originally i was thinking isengard would be hard to get to the quality that i want, but seeing this is inspiring. I was wondering what you did to get that skin tone on the feral uruk-hai/berserkers. Similarly, i was also wondering about how you painted the wood on the ballista. Did you use any washes/inks for the metallics?

great looking uruks everyone.
@feanorthenoldor you've nailed those uruks. IMO you've got the skin and armour tones perfect, they are extremely neat, good shading, great detail (esp. white hands) and the bases look fantastic. keep it up!, i would love to see a large wotr army painted to that standard.

thanks a lot agincourt777, I'm trying very hard to build a bigger army, but i just don't have a lot of time to paint all of my mini's.

hopefully, when summer vacation comes, i will expand my uruk and galadhrim army even more!!!

I lost count after 116. Then I realized I had been counting the wildmen as well...and you were just asking about the uruks, right?

You want to have a go?

Epic army right there. Good to see you posting again John.

Off the top of my head.

20 Uruk-hai with Shields
19 Uruk-hai with Pikes
3 Banners
4 Captains
2 Shamen
9 Crossbowmen
16 Berserkers
16 Siege-crew
2 Ballistae with Crew
2 Trolls
48 assorted Scouts
7 Warg Riders and Sharku
Ugluk
Vrasku
Lurtz
Saruman (twice)
Grima
26 Orcs with Captain and Banner
16 Dunlendings

Hey, everybody has got to start somewhere.

That started off as a box of Scouts, a box of Warg Riders, the Sharku and Ugluk/Vrasku blister, and a blister of Feral Uruk-hai.

That there is one full years work though.

I do have big, and I mean BIG plans for the army now.

Btw, is that a gaming table the army is on? Did you finally play a second game of the sbg with your new army? :P

Gaarew, it looks great. Always nice to see an Isengard army with a decent representation of "normal" Orcs. 8)

It's an impressive force to say the least. Have they been one of your projects for a long time or did you just decide to embarrass us all by painting them in a week.
