It seems I need to do some more testing with the conversion from phpBB2 to phpBB3 - it failed miserably, so back to the drawing board.

As a result, some of the site won't be working very well - the article library in particular, so bear with me while I work to get it all fixed.

Just as a note, if you notice a sudden drop on post and thread count don't worry. We are doing some prunning to (hopefully!) help with the transition to the new version.

I'm about to cull our membership too and the Personal Messages to reduce the database even more.

If you don't mind me asking, how did the post reduction work? Some people seemed to have lost a lot more than others.

Most likely all older posts removed. I've had quite a chunk taken out, even moreso Alan, Brian, David, all the old members, who've easily had 5 thousand posts.

After the upgrade, I reset a few of the site statistics, including the one that calculates the post count for everyone. Consequently everyone's post count dropped dramatically - mine especially. It went down from 5700 to about 1400!

But why so much? Well, it was because when we did a cull of posts last year, DurinsBane went through and kept track of everyone's post count and then reset them all back to what they were before the cull, which was a nice gesture. So the figure was actually not very accurate from then onwards. When I reset it on the weekend, reality reasserted itself and we've now got an accurate figure.

I can reset them to what they were before the upgrade if people want it. But it'll be a bit meaningless really since DurinsBane and I together would appear to account for 25% of the remaining posts, which isn't really the case.

I'm not sure if this possible, but would it be possible to add a Word Count? Either instead or with our Posts Count.

Forgive my ignorance, but why do we need to know how many times people have posted? Like Haldir_pl said, it's the quality that matters.
Maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks for trying so hard to fix the site.

Just out of curiosity, when exactly is everything gonna go back to normal. As in when will it be in the good old cream and brown coloured format and not this white and blue colour?
