Worst models? How about the old Arwen?

100% agreed. Gary Morley (sp?) is a wonderful sculptor who is probably one of GW's most venerable atrists, but I'm not sure his style quite suited Arwen in the case of that model. I much prefer the new one, which I'm not sure but I think was Brian Nelson.

Still, I would call it an excellent model in the grand scheme of things. There's an awful lot of rubbish out there.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread Pinky, I totally forgot that I had started it. Yeah I agree that there are a lot of nice models, bilbo, khazad-dum gandalf and boromir with horn all look great.

In terms of worst I dont remember the old Arwen model and cant think one one that I really dislike at the moment.

Best....I dunno, those new Island of Blood plastics are phenomenal for starter set stuff and amazing in general....that High Elf prince on Griffon is epic.

Worst...Lesse....mounted Glorifindel or old Arwen.

Actually it was TerrorOfTheNorth but thanks anyway :-D

Worst, maybe the new Faramir model that everyone was bagging a while ago, haven't seen it in the flesh yet so just based on the atrocious picture GW uses to promote it.

i like the new haldir model because he looks so EPIC

worst models. hmmm. horribly proprtioned wood elf sentinel with bow has to be one of them. and most of the plastic wood elves (but that hasn't stopped me from buying them). and that horrendously bad arwen model.

Edit: the arwen is selling for £15 on ebay!! have i missed something?

OOP models go for alot, even if their replacement was better.

Hmm... I'm not sure I agree with you there... I think he is one of the worst at GW, but then again, thats me :) IMO, the Perry Twins early LotR sculpts were good, though I don't like their recent ones...

Favourite GW Minis.... I'd have to say it's a toss-up between the following...

-Old Metal Cadian Senior Officer
-The Space Marine Masters of the Chapter Box Set
-Aragorn, Breaking of the Fellowship

Peace

I love the UH scout box, the new Galadhrim box, and Aragorn (from the Breaking of the Fellowship set - I really need to get one).

I prefer the Heroes of Helm's Deep Aragorn (OOP) to the Breaking of the Fellowship version.

I'm going to try and mould a cloak onto mine with Green Stuff.

As good hero... Hm... I think Faramir in Ranger outfit and as evil one... The Undying, MoS and The old gothmog are one of my favourites. Good warriors: Swan Knights; Evil: BGoB and Morannons

The Galadhrim I find fantastic - then again most of the elves are. The Leglas figure that Tidoco did a guide for (think it was Heroes of Helms Deep)
However I never cared for Elrond - his face looked odd !!!

I really like the Three Hunter mini's, and I like all of the Breaking of the Fellowship mini's too. I think my absolute favorite is Erestor.

I agree with you 100% about the Three Hunters, those models are amazing!

I don't like the Three Hunters much, the poses don't work for me.

The eldar harlequins are really neat models, particularly the shadowseer. Cirdan, and new Arwen are pretty good sculpts as well.
Elrond does have a really odd face though I do agree with that.
