I'd really like to see that conversion! :D

I'll be getting the Cave Drake, Balrog wings and Greenstuff for Christmas so watch this space...

I may even try and make an article out of it ;)

Sounds very cool. It would make some good variation for the pretty boringly-posed dragon we have now. And only for £1 extra.

Hmm although after buying Gulavhar back in the "old days" I decided that I wount be buying any monsters at all...(apart from the Spider Queen))) but I must say that this Cave Drake looks awsome... (@The_Dragon_of_Moria: "Great Idea with Balrogs Wings BTW!!!") and I just might get that big Lizard ;)

Over-all the whole new release looks nice which adds fun and variety to the game :D

It's a terrible thing; who wants to have pointy ears?

Anyways, back on topic: I don't like any of the models from this release much: the Cave Drake looks on it own alright, but (like several people have pointed out) totally incapable of swallowing anyone and then being able to fight afterwards. The King's Champion... a dwarf monster was a stupid idea to begin with. Floi isn't too bad, but he doesn't look very Dwarvish to me. The Gundabad Blackshields Captain is good, but the shaman looks like he's lacking some brain cells and the drummer will as well having a drum strapped to his head. As for the normal Gundabad Blackshields, for a start they're too brightly painted, but they also just don't look evil enough.

Haha, what did you expect, skulls and spikes everywhere? :P

I think the pictures in the advance order section of the GW site make the red look a lot less bright, but their armor, weapons, and color scheme are all the same as a normal goblin, the only difference is a warg-skin cloak (I think you pretty much only see furs on evil models in the LotR line) and the tunic over the chainmail.

Agree on the shaman/standard bearer (or whatever he is) and the drummer, though, they're kinda lame.

Urgh. The last thing we need for Lotr is the warhammer fanboiz skullz and spikez!

The color of their skin is really bright as well. Everything else looks pretty decent though.

I think all the models were painted by a hippy myself.

That's ridiculous, all the Warhammer and 40K releases have practically a whole White Dwarf about them.

Yeah, I think they really are just slowly killing lotr warhammer but are just getting the odd article in there to keep the fans from getting too bored and quit the game.

I think they're just marking time until the new Hobbit films are (at least) in production, and there's more of a buzz around the LotR. I should imagine that the delays in the Hobbit films really threw the GW business plan for 2009 and 2010.
