yes, Amon sul or Weathertop is the correct answer.

It held a palantir (guardian of the seven)
You have a clear view over the great east road from up there. (watcher of roads)
It held a palantir and frodo was there with the ring. (Twice, I held an object of great importance.)
It was attacked several times during the wars with Ruhdaur/Angmar because of the palantir and the nine atacked both Gandalf and Frodo on weathertop.
(The nine attacked me many times.)
And now it's just a ruin instead of the great watchtower it was. (Now, I'm a mere shadow of the past.)
