Ok ive been thinking of a Gondor army for a while now, and heres what ive come up with

Faramir, captain of Gondor - Heavy armour/horse - 85 points
Captain of Gondor - Shield - 55 points

6 Knights of MT - shields - 84 Points
8 WoMT - Shield - 64 points
8 WoMT - Shield/spear - 72 points
10 WoMT - Bow - 80 Points

This leaves me with 60 points left to fill out. I could always give Faramir a lance to up his power but what else should i add? Osgiliath Vets? GotFC? CG? Ive also been contemplating Boromir CotWT to lead instead of Faramir, just cause hes soo awesome :-D but your imput is most welcome! keep im mind im trying to keep theme here, almost like the army which retook/defended Osgiliath.

I planed on using them in sort of the hammer and anvil strategy, using the warriors and captain to hold a strong shield wall while the Knights flank the enemy and smash them into the wall. The archers keep the enemy from flanking me and could contribute a volley. Any other strategy is welcome to! :)

Hi, looks like a pretty decent start.
Faramir should definitely get a lance its usually worth its points. CotWT is probably too expensive for such a small points value, as you'll be surrounded. Worse if your enemy has a ringwraith.
GotFC or CG both look like good additions, although if you add CG you might want to replace the WOMT w/bow.

The Osgiliath force was a mix of Faramir and his rangers + Boromir with WoMT. Maybe start with the Rangers list, replace your WoMT w/bows with rangers, maybe take some vets as a bodyguard. You might even be able to get away with just having Faramir and lots of models, but if you still want the knights, use the Captain to ally them in from the Tower list.

yes i see where your comming from.. Im tempted to take both Faramir (ranger form) and Boromir CotWT but the points cost would be exponential. (not to mention also on my wallet for those 2 expensive blisters!) Which of those 2 would be better at 500 points? im guessing Faramir but would Boromir be more suited for say 600? or would he still be outnumbered?

I don't think Boromir comes into his own until 700+ unless he's on his own, generally I think you'll get a lot more use out of Faramir. But if you're not looking to buy more models, nothing wrong with your original list, with a lance and a few more troops. You could even drop the captain entirely and get close to the model limit...a Gondor swarm! I could be wrong but I don't think vets are part of the tower list. If you drop the captain you'll need some F4 elites to shore up the infantry.

i actually am look to buy more models :) im going out later today to get some in fact! but thats what im trying to decide in. Should i get Armoured Faramir foot/mounted to lead the army or Boromire CotWT. Im picking up another box of WoMT and maybe a blister or 2 of elites, like vets or CG.
so far i have -
box of Knights
box of WoMT
Captain
Bannar
Boromir of Gondor (if that counts)
box of Rangers

now its just turning what i have into a fun/decent army. I like the knights cause they add some veriety to the straightforward shield wall advance accross the battlefield. And on your last comment, if i do drop the captain to take more soldiers would it be better to take CG or GotFC? the latter has the body guard rule which could come in handy if my opponant has any terror causing monsters. .. hmmm decisions decisions..

well ive created a Tower list today with some new models i picked up. I know Boromir CotWT isnt the best choice but i love the model and im not playing to competitively :) i could also expand this to a 700 pt army with Faramir and some Rangers or a Captain and a contingent of knights..

ToE

Boromir CotWT - shield - 180 pts

3 GotFC - 30 pts
10 WoMT - spear/shield - 90 pts
15 WoMT - Shield - 120 pts
10 WoMT - bow - 80 pts

39 men, 6 might, 10 shots (possibility for volley)

soo C & Cs welcome, i know its bland but thats what i get for Boromirs epicness. does this work well as a 500 point force or should i work on a 700 pt because of Boromir like Whafrog said?

I think the first list is much better IMO. 1 less might and a mounted hero. If you are very eager to have Boromir, I suggest you play a higher points' level like 700 points. Otherwise, I would drop him entirely.
