I don't think this is a very good thread. Many people progress at painting at different stages, but some people may never get better at all. We shouldn't showcase peoples attempts at painting that may not be very good and judge them (or maybe laugh but I don't think that is your intention). People may want to post their own personal worst mini they have done or their first miniature, if so then you should rename the thread.
I hope you understand my reasons and I hope you do not feel like I am attacking you in anyway.
Thanks,

Cyndra the Grey

I don't have a worst miniature. Everything I paint is a work of sheer artistry. :P

I had a bad hardcoat spray can, where the paint came out grainy and that's what I used to prime my WoMT. Was very upset, didn't know how to paint strip back then, so I said screw it I'll paint them up anyway. So these 24 guys look basically flat in color and they're armour is all grainy.

I primed my Boromir banner at the sametime as those models, but there was no way I was going to paint him up like that until I figured out how to strip the primer off.

My first ever painted minature, which was a Legolas I painted in 2004, would have to be my worst painted miniature. I've only increased my painting prowess since then.

One of the goblins I painted with my first edition of SBIME. It's just four flat colours, I intend to go back to them and highlight them sometime and add detail but I havn't had a chance yet

My first Captain of Minas Tirith. I used so much black ink that his bright mithril silver coloured armour became ebony black.

I think the worst painted miniatures i've done so far have to be my most recent ones - 8 mounted metal knights of dol amroth ....i'm hating every second of them!! Who knows I may feel differently once there finished (as is often the case). I just can't get them to a stage where i'm happy with them. Anyway enough moaning back to it.........

You really, really, REALLY, don't wanna that one...
I'll give you some hints:
Found it unnecessary to undercoat it
White is paper white, red is pure red and green is grass green.
No drybrush, no highlight, no wash, ...
I painted 3 colours (no more, no less)
It was a big model that cost me 70€ and looks like an elephant (hint, hint)
Do I have to tell you about the glue I used ?
Oh and the base was painted entirely green

hrm...I'd been painting quite a while when I picked up LoTR, so I don't really have a "worst". I am, however, unhappy with the way my elves (high and galadhrim) are turning out. I've been told that they look fine, but I am just not satisfied with any of the results so far.
