LOME lists the Drake under Evil Heroes. The WD profile does not correct that...so the Drake is a hero. Right?

I've read an argument that because the Drake has no Might/Will/Fate than it is automatically NOT a hero..but is that a hard rule--that heros must have M/W/F--or is that an interpretation?

I have also read that some tournements list it as non-hero because it is so over-powered---but this implies an exception to the rule (like making Spider Queen a named hero, or forbiding Grey Company)..thus implying that the Drake normally is a hero.

I would say the Cave Drake is a hero (In my LOME it does not actually say that it, or any Monster of Middle-earth or Nazgul, is a hero)

According to the rules he is not a hero because he has no M/W/F.

According to common sense of the ally rules and to the official rulling of the UKGT this year - he is a hero with 0/0/0 (otherwise to take him into the army you would also have to have a Dragon or Gulavhar).

Yes, especially that last argument makes the most sense, Cave drakes do not have to be leaded by dragons (that's what makes most sense)

So it is a written in Black & White rule: no M/W/F = no hero? Where can I find it?

LOME (page 99) listing of the Drake under "Evil Heroes" is black & white, at least, with no change in the profile. Have we got an opposing rule? Or one that cancels out LOME?

Sorry to be picky, but I hate to invest 45 euros in model and have to ask at each tournement whether it is a hero or not...as much as I agree with common sense.

That is because the model is of a nesting mother.

Pretty much all across the hero rules. I don't have the rulebook at the moment, but it's pretty clear as far as I remember that only Heroes have M/W/F. Mumak is also in the heroes section in the rulebook I believe, even though it's not a hero, its commander is.

Nonetheless the GT rulling is that it's a Hero and I've never met anyone who would ever say that you can't use it as a hero with 0/0/0. Otherwise it would be plain stupid to count him as a hero because you would always have to field a Dragon or Gulavhar to have the ability to play Cave Drake. So there's nothing to worry about. If your tourney organisers say that he's not a hero then you can go and tell them in their face what you think of their rulling ;)
