I dont think so, cause those are also expensive metal figures. I think I will use some orc or haradim.

What about warriors/army of the dead? Could easily add some green stuff on to cover the armor then add a crown.

I think two ghost warriors are perfect choice, indeed.

Today I travelled to a belgian city, Liege. It was a very boring, and grey city, there was almost nothing to see.
But I was really lucky also! A found a modell store, and there were GW products also.
50% discount for the boxes, and 60% for the blisters. OMG, I sad. So I began to collect figures, and it was hard to stop.

This my shopping list from today:
-morgul stalkers
-the tainted
-hobbit archers
-corsiar bonsun and captain
-orc taskmaster, drummer
-shade
-arwen ft,mtd
-the betrayer

It was hard to say stop. I hesitated on metal shosts, gondor and rohan heroes, and a small box called guards of the shire, or something. But its ok, I collected several blisters, what I always wanted, but I didnt bought it yet, cause it was too expensive.

I'm lucky guy :D :D :D :D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Is the drummer troll useful? There is a chance, I could buy one for half prize, but Im not sure I need it, cause I already have two trolls. So if I would buy another one, I would use it as drummer.

My Fell beast is on its way :D Im writing here to ask your suggestion. I think the flaming sword is much more hard core, so I was thinkink about to replace the mace with a sword, and sculp some flames on it. And I will give the mace for nazgul on foot. What do you think? Is it good idea?

That sounds good to me.
Personally, I've got my WH (long term project) with both hands on the reins.
Something you might try, though, is gluing bits of pewter flashing onto the blade instead of sculpting the flame. I had pretty good results with that, I think.

"gluing bits of pewter flashing onto the blade"

This senteces is not really clear for me. Do you talking about to glue pieces of metal onto the sword? Why is it better? Could you take a photo about it?

Metal minis have flashing on them (at least they used to) that's left over from the molding process: It's kind of like the plastic sprue, except on a smaller scale. It's generally removed as useless when preparing the mini for painting, but I never throw it out - you never know what will be useful.
Sorry these photos aren't the best quality. I had trouble getting the camera to focus.

The trick was getting the lines to flow in a way that looked right and not using so much flashing "flame" that it overwhelmed the sword. 8)

That is a neat idea, and looks like you did a nice job of painting it as well! :)

Thanks, guys. Word of warning, though: I wasn't careful about the directions the flames flow on the mounted version, so it kinda looks like WK is stabbing forward with a Sparkler. You have to be careful that the flames go in the right direction.

This Saturday, I'm going to a WOTR competition, and I want to show some new things to my fellows.

This is my 1000 points list:
3C black guard + Bann, Cap -235
5C morannon + betrayer (125) -250
5C warg +cap, drumm-210
5C morannon +cap+taskM- 200
2C Grisnakh trackers-105

I have to paint a Betrayer, a taskmaster, and 3 tracker during the next days. I will also finish the painting on several orcs, and I will make some bases too.

Just for fun, I will put Frodo and Sam in the mob. I bought the "orc version" a few weeks ago. Fortunately, most of my warriors are painted, so I just have to work on the special figures. I also want to repair Grisnakh, it needs some highlight.

:orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :frodo: :sam: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc:

So I began to work on my Sauron to the Feb painting challenge. I hope I will finish him.

Im a fan of Mordor, so I want to make the "god" of Mordor as good as I can.
I have this figure, I bought it used, now I began to sharp and correct the spikes. I also cut out some material between his fingers on his ringed hand.
I realized that this figure is not the best GW product. Why? Cause it is asymmetric. If you look at the line on his armor on his belly, you can see it that the left line is much more down than the other. So now I removed that line, and I will re-sculpt it on the correct height.
I also realized that his face is also asymmetric. The down part of the mask is not the same on the left and right part. I try to correct it somehow.
The third mistake I realized that Sauron helmet has 6 spike, but the modell only has 5. The back spike is missing. I have to make a 6th one.

Challenge accepted :sauron:

I'm curious to see how your conversions will turn out! I hope to own a Sauron myself someday :)

Hi, Im going to play a small WOTR game in 500 points against Gondor. My army list:

4c morannon
5C morannon+betrayer
4c Warg with cap
(shields everywhere of course)

I'm worrying about the number of his troops. I hope I can use my magic very well. Or is it a bad idea to use Betrayer in such a small game like this?
