Well, they insist on their finecrap, so i won't buy anything new (Devlan Mud releases anyway, too made up).

Same will apply to the Hobbit releases to come, sadly.

Since they're aren't any new models (other than the command packs) for the side of Good, do you think they're going to release some more minis in March? I hope they release Grimbeorn and the Beornings.

No pics, everything will be up on the GW site Friday evening/Saturday morning!

I assume the Easterling pack will have the existing models (banner, dragonknight, priest) and then the captain.

The book covers look quite nice. I like their choice of photos for each one.

Unfortunately seeing pics from WD makes the point of buying it less, but I will still pick one up on Saturday.

Lol yeah I've been in two minds about looking at any of this stuff too. The discussion about the releases should be something new though; and the pics always look better when you're holding the pages in your hand.

So it looks like Isengard is folded into the Fallen Realms book.

I really like the new additions to the Gondor, Rohan and Dwarf commands...too bad I don't need the other models that come in those sets.

farout GW you put great new looking models with older ones and sell it all in one bundle, thanks a lot you bozo's. Some of us already have command boxes and dont want any more. This way they makes you want to get the new models through purchasing all 4 for a massive price.

That Gondor knight dude does look pretty cool though, id love to see some info on the new SBG.

With the new ratio of heros to warriors, it will most likely be necessary for a lot of people to get cheap captains to bolster their armies numbers. I for one am happy that they're bundeling them. I'm not happy about the prices, of course, but they would be much worse if they were seperate. The Gondorians, for instance, were $25 for the command set, and they would charge another $12 for the new Hero. What would cost $37 for 4 models in metal is now around $39 in finecast. These command packs are some of the best prices they have in Finecast.

King's Huntsman
-I love that idea so much!
-Great model as well, especially the arrows!

Dwarf Warrior with Horn
-Again great model, love the horn!

Galadhrim Warrior with Horn
-Again, great model, i love the elvish style horn!

Knight of the White Tower
-Great model
-Not so keen on the idea, what exactly is this rank? It's livable though.

Rulebook covers
-A bit small to see but all looks fine.
-It's interesting that they are using only movie shots for the covers.

I also love the watcher and the beast of gorgoth even more now (looks like you can put the orcs on seperate bases if you want to) Can you use the watcher instead of the 6 tentacles for the fellowship of the ring scenario? Or would it be very boring?

Maybe they think that GW would cut prices on their favorite minis if LOTR wasn't part of the equation.
LotR has the capacity to bring in people from outside the tabletop community - myself included. Having never played 40K or WHFB I don't know definitively but, unless I'm wrong, they really don't have the ability to draw in people who've never played tabletop games before. I certainly wouldn't know they existed without that first TT starter set from my local bookstore.

That's what I mean, he decided there were only 7. I know he said "at most 7", but I take that as meaning: 7.
First time I saw that in one of the books, I felt pretty disappointed. I'd always figured that Morgoth having a small army where each individual was roughly as powerful as the Nine all together was a solid sign of his darkly-powerfull-ness. But, when you think about it, having only 7 makes more sense since the elves were able to keep the whole of Angband locked away for so long. If there were a lot of the flamey guys, there'd be no chance that even the Noldor could just overwhelm them with numbers and awesomeness.

I did the same last night, watched the blu-ray version, very hard to tell,
If I remember, in the Extended Edition special features, they've got a picture of the whole dang critter from when they're prepping the CG model. Just a big, freaky-demon octopus. But this is GW we're talking about, so who know's what they're gonna do with something.

Most of these models aren't bad, and if I were interested in making a display of "all" the balrogs I'd definitely want to add their new one to the collection. But, the fact that everything's Finecast & still costs more than they would've in metal is a major turn off, and a constant reminder that GW bla bla bla...
Man, I'm tired of GW lending justification to our price complaints. Especially when they do manage to produce some pretty nice models sometimes.

He trains the Gondor nobility how to fight or something.

The new command options look great, just great. But I feel tricked. They put the new models along with old ones at an out-of-the-roof price. But man how much I want these dwarves and I still have an unopened blister with the same command options...
