They look very nice. Dwarf Champion looks good, I was thinking about getting that model but it's too expensive and It's nearly impossible to find the SBG rules for it.

Love the bases. They add a lot of character.

Cheers everyone! :)

I started painting the warriors the other night, but didn't get far :P

I'm going to put the scheme down here so I don't forget! (As I tend to do ;) )

airbush gun metal
airbrush silver from above (zenithial lighting)
wash badab black
wash armour sepia to get muted gold effect
paint cloth/shields Fenris grey
paint boots, gloves, etc adeptus.
wash cloth boots etc badab black.
flesh is tallarn, washed ogryn, highlighted with dwarf.
beards are either:
- khemri, highlught bleached bone, wash sepia and then devlan is recesses.
- astro grey, highlighted bleached bone, washed sepia, devlan lightly in recesses
- calthan, highlighted bleached bone, washed sepia and then devlan in recesses.

Bases are airbrush grey via brush, drybrush astro grey, black rims.
(base texture is white pumice paste and slate.)

I went a bit dwarf mad t'other day and added a load of finecast stuff to my collection :)

The axes were all a bit warped/broken/miscast, but luckily I had access to a large supply of the fellowship sprues ;) So eleven armless gimlis later and I have COOLER looking iron guard :)

ooooo that's a nice looking collection. You prefer the finecast over the metals? Wouldn't mind buying a pack of dwarves after seeing this.

Finecast is a hell of a lot easier to work with, but has its flaws for definite. Miscasts and bubbles being the main problem, but as I had the axes available to swap out (never really liked the tiny axes they had anyway) I thought I'd get them. I tend to find that the bubbles end up in places where you don't see them, like the underside of the model.
Metal is nice and reliable, but still suffers from the occasional miscast, and is a LOT harder to fix when it miscasts. I also dislike making metal models and since finecast have purchased lots of models I wouldn't normally if they were metal.

Looking forward to seeing you paint the Dwarves. Finecast definitely has it's benefits, my favourite being the ease of converting when compared to metal minis.

Well I purchased a few things yesterday :) Unfortunately my Watcher in the water is at the shop as I couldnt get it home!
Drum is pretty easy to convert to foot for when he falls off horse.

Also the dead of dunharrow are now in the fiefdoms list, and with bow limit rounding up AND the dead being able to take shields and spears (defence 8 baby!) I've made this small army of dead and blackroot vale archers.
