yeah I kinda want to collect them all now and Ihave a good head start but I can see it getting very very expensive ..

I saw that theres a sorta frodo model with Peter Jacksons head I bet he is as rare as Chickens Teeth and costs a bomb never actually seen it for sale and I dunno where people got him from in the first place, also on the subject of expensive crazy prices Gulavhar in is now £35 in finecast ! .. im glad I have him in metal tbh not a fan of finecast really and esp not the silly price

Only 2 Peter Jackson as Hobbit models were made, one for GW, one for Peter Jackson. Unless you can hire ukfreddybear to sculpt one for you, you won't have an look.

I actually didnt realise how much they could take from thier warband rules! .. prob a very fun and different army to try

I picked Moria becourse i love to overwhelm my apponent .. ( and at the end lose them all hehe) and offcourse all the monsters .. second choise will be dwarves

Oddly enough I can't vote in the poll.

Of course mine is Durin's folk.

Gimli and the dwarf lords from the movie along with the dwarves designed by GW make this range's dwarves some of their best miniatures ever made for any system. I felt like jumping into the roof out of joy when I first discovered the Khazâd Guard models and Balin when they were new in my local store, and these miniatures are still amongst my favourites. I will have to convert a lot of dwarf crossbowmen in the future, since the crossbow is the ultimate dwarven shooting weapon in my eyes. I have hardly played any Lotr at all, but from Warhammer Dwarf experience and what other people have told me, I think the indestructibility of the dwarven army is sweet to have.

On a side note I'm prepared for disappointment with the Hobbit dwarves. The liberties that Peter Jackson & C:O seem to take with the only dwarf army we'll likely see on the field in Lotr movies does not sound well and fine to my ears. I want to see Weta's take on armoured dwarf infantry and watch if they can beat GW's best Lotr dwarves, not view a lot of berzerkers and boar riders (!) of which especially the last category will be alien to Tolkien's Middle-Earth. We'll see, but I think it will be a shame that Weta didn't go for more traditional dwarves. Gimli's armour suit is brilliant, so why not a whole army of pretty similar dwarves?

I also like the High Elves and Goblins very much in Lotr SBG.

As far as I can tell from the blog videos that I've seen, WETA isn't changing the basic dwarves, only the heros to make it so you can easily tell them apart. They might also have some weird ones like the Boar Riders, and I'm not happy about that, but it looks like they'll do a great job as always.

Oh, I didn't complain about the thirteen dwarves in Thorin's group. Some of them are a bit odd but still look fine and dwarven (although the beards are too short). However, if what I hear about Iron Hills boar riders and berzerkers instead of Iron Hills armoured veterans prove true, I will be disappointed about that. I for one would like more traditional dwarf infantry to appear at Erebor, especially because Weta could make a brilliant job with them. We'll see how it all turns out.
