Shagrat, the dwarves and the dragon look stunning! Looking forward to the finished dragon. :-D

Thanks :-D No problem Wah Wing, you might want to throw a bit of luck into the mix as well :P

The work so far looks really good Chris - the highlighting on the wings is really smooth.

Thanks :D For the wings I painted it like cloth then watered down a mix of Catachan Green and Chaos Black to wash over it

Now that is a nice 'little' green dragon. Nice colour scheme, and painted well, it looks so right, and dragonish, if you know what I mean. The underbelly too. :yay: :yay:

Thanks Bilbo, I'm glad I went for green now, choosing the colour was probably the hardest part

Thanks :D I think I understand what you mean :-D (in that it will look like how a dragon should?)

I've done some more work on the Dragon, pics will come later today, I think I'm about a third of the way through him now.

Thanks Sid :-D I had originally intended to go with a lighter colour for the wings, but I'm happy with how they ended up :D

Shieldmaiden wrote:

Thanks Shieldmaiden :D I've done the other side of the dragon, all I have left to do is the tail, finish the horns/claws and the base :-D (Which all means he may be finished next update :-D )

Thanks :D Lots of crunchable orcses to eat :-D

I took six pictures of the Dragon, and these are the only two I'm happy with, two were out of focus, and the other two didn't show the detail very well :(

Any name suggestions would also be appreciated :)

What a fantastic piece of work Chris - I really like the green. The horns and claws are also particularly well painted. All the hard work has most definitely paid off. Well done mate!!!

I looked at this on my phone at lunch time but it looks far better now on my laptop! Great piece of work there Chris, he looks really smooth and professional. Can't wait to see what you do with his base.

Thanks Shieldmaiden :D I like your crystal suggestion for the base and, although I won't be using them on the base, I have another idea for crystals now. I've gone for a tiled/sand base like those of my Banner Bearer and Shagrat, but in darker colours with a few scattered shields on them (and I plan on putting some weapons too).

He is looking great!! Really like how you did the claws and horns...too many times people paint them white which can really take the model away from a realistic look. Well done!! :)

Thanks Bilbo :-D :-D I had them painted flat Deheb Stone before, but it didn't look right so I washed half with Snakebite Leather and really liked the effect :D

The Dragon's base is now finished, and I've started work on Gil-galad, but pictures will have to wait until I get access to a good camera :(

Here's the finished Dragon (excluding a few touch ups), unfortunately you can't see the tiles on the base very well, but they are there. I had tried putting some Dwarf and Goblin shields on the base, but I found they contrasted with the Dragon too much so I removed them.
