I've mostly been in this hobby alone but (as people on the TLA may know) I have a friends who's a bit on and off. Anyway i had a big shock today when he said for his birthday and Christmas he's getting £150 worth of models. What he will have with the stuff he already has is:

28 easterling(6 pikes 10 swords and 12 bows)
3 watchers of karna(may increase)
Harad captain(from mumak)
knight of umbar(foot and mounted)
2 easterling captains with shields(he's done an awesome but scruffy conversion with spare goblin heads)

6 riders of rohan
theoden (discontinued one foot and mounted)

Now I know that there's far from enough for a good army (the only possible one being ents plus thorins con) but Just wondering if you can make a nice 1000pt list for the haradhrim and easterlings (including mumak and knight of umbar if possible)

Basically you would just make use of everything except a few things. Watchers of Karna are a bit soft and pushed it over the limit so I excluded them. Otherwise all you are missing is the harad captain & a few easterling archers ( I went on 33% bows for easterlings, not sure if this is the case).

Should be a fairly decent army - has enough troops and heavy hitters as well as captains to fill in the gaps. He would just need to make sure that he is the one bullying other heroes, as his ones aren't as durable compared to many good heroes. Take out a few easterling troops if you want to upgrade the mumak but I think it works how it is.
