While looking up Thorin's points value on the GW site's PDF, I noticed there are values for Elrond, grimhammers, the trolls, hunter orcs, etc. If i'm not wrong it's everything from the AUJ Big Book. Am I mistaken or has this only just been updated?

If i'm correct and this PDF contains all the model's rules...has GW turned over a new leaf? I'm guessing this is due to the DoS book coming out relatively soon and it won't have these values in. I'm stunned at this move and really happy as it means I don't have to buy the ridiculous £50 book!

Wow nice find! This must be something new! The old pdf file only had the rules for Thorin and co.

This has been out for a while, at least a few months, though I can't recall exactly when. A good call on GW's part, IMHO.

I have been using the online pdf for some time and have never noticed the additional profiles. In fact I must have used it less than a few days ago and still never noticed.

EDIT: Even the comment above the article says "If you have bought The Hobbit: Escape From Goblin Town the PDF below provides you with the points values for the contents of the box", implying that the previous version of the document only contained profiles for EFGT as I thought!

Yeah I looked at this very recently and it wasn't there. That's really cool. Now I just need to find the scenarios and I can spend the £50 I was going to spend on the book on models. I'm looking at you Bill, Bert & Tom!

That's awesome, I would never have known it wasn't just the EFGT minis!

Now it makes life easier when I'm toting up oints values. I do most of that on my tablet - calculator and documents in one go, whilst in an armchair, lovely - so being able to just stick this on my tablet will save me from lugging around that big hardback book. :D

Hey Games Workshop ... you're awesome! I wonder why they've done it though? I've checked it when it was just the EfGT profiles, and now it's got the rest of them, it's become even more useful!

Crixalis, it doesn't have the Warriors of Dale stats because it seems to be a direct copy of what was in the big book (which I didn't buy), and Warriors/Captains of Dale weren't in that book.

Probably just a direct extract from their master copy of the rule book.

Hopefully we'll get Dale stats in the DoS book, along with the long awaited Yazneg profile...

They released the points for the box set models in June, so this is newer than that. Awesome find BTW.

A pdf with the full rules for the models in the Escape from Goblin Town have been on the GW for some time yes, but this has not!

I still have the old pdf on my laptop, and I can confirm that it does not have the rules for the other models, the Army Lists and the introductory pages.

The name on the GW site is the same as before though. Also I looked it up a few days ago, and it still had the EfGT rules then, so they must have changed it somewhere in the last few days.

Thanks for the heads up! :)

I'm glad GW is finally entering the digital age. Good call on them. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue for every profile.

Very Cool!

GW has already entered the digital age, but they just kept prices the same so you mightaswell get the actual book ;) At least I think this is the case for 40k.

BOOM! Kindest thing GW has done in...ever? Suppose they used to have old profiles up before the sourcebooks, but they were not in an as accessible format as this. :D

Nice one. :)
This means I can keep using the A5 rulebook from EfGT, but actually have rules for the UEJ models. I might actually start buying some of them now.

Note that they now also changed the name to Heroes and Villains of Middle-earth (instead of the Escape From Goblin Town points values) on the GW site.

Either way, it's a really, really nice things of GW to do! 8)

So is this PDF an exact copy of the profile section from the big book, or has it been summarised and shortened?
