Sorry to hear that- awful news.

You have a great WIP thread- just went through the last few pages, and will check out the rest later.

Thanks everyone it's much appreciated.
So I'm back painting now and really want to do some more nmm, so I decided to join this months challenge and do a winter/Christmas themed Easterling with nmm armor. Here are some wip pictures, I'll post the finished ones later. Enjoy!

That looks really nice, well done! Could you please tell me the colours you used for the NMM armour? I have a batch of easterlings waiting for some paint and like you colour scheme a lot...

It's good to be back :)
Son of Fundin, sure I'd be glad to. I can't at the moment, but I'll be sure to get to it when I can.
Here is my finished Easterling. I'm not completely happy with it because I had to rush to finish it because I'm going to be gone for the remainder of December and had to finish it today. Anyway, here it is. I hope you all like it.
Here's my finished entry.

Great job on this guy POW. A few comments I have:
1. The gold looks like metal, good job with that. It's hard to believe his armour is nmm, especially since it's not super 'clean' and bright like most other nmm I see.
2. The shield does not look like metal. I'm not sure if it's supposed to, but it doesn't.
3. Great attention to detail, I love the tiny green gem in the hilt of the sword!
4. Finally, the sword is passable. Not as good as the armour, but it's okay.

Hope that helps. :)

Hi PoW. Nice mini and some very nice NMM. However, I am especially intrigued by the snow on the base. Could you possibly tell me what you used for it? Thanks.

I really like the wooden grooves you've put in the back of the shield.

Thank you avenger, it does help. I also don't think the shield looks like armor either honestly. I wasn't really sure where to do the lighting, and I didn't have the time to figure it out. Same thing with the sword, I just couldn't figure it out.

Thanks, for the snow I used woodland scenics snow. I personally think you get better results with baking soda and salt, but it looks nice enough.

Great work. Nice simple conversion and very good nmm metal on the amour. Nice entry for the challenge. Good luck!

Thanks a lot. That's very helpful. I've been looking for a better way to do snow (I hate GW's - far too much like Static Grass) so thanks :)

Here is another haradrim warrior, I accidentally forgot to paint the beard, but I'll get to it, don't worry :)

And I also spent a little more time on the Easterling warrior. I'm still not completely happy with the shield, but it's better than it was.

But it's still pretty bad :( let me know what you think?

All over great painting with a couple of points.
The Haradrim beard actually looks fantastic and I don't think you should touch it further.
I like the easterling and the only thing is to work on the blending on the shield, the area at the top between the white and light brown.

Thanks Gandalf, I did work some more on the shield, but I'm still not happy with it. So I'm going to leave it alone for a while.
Here is one of the things I've been working on recently( three days ago).

I was hoping to enter it in last months challenge, but I didn't have enough time. I probably wouldn't have won anyway.
This model is really fun to paint though, I'm really happy with how it's turning out.
I hope you all like it

Inspirational base on your Easterling, and your Haradrim is perhaps the most realistic one I've seen. His skin is simply great :).
