Oh. Free shipping! Yay!

The things I’d do for that uruk scout captain…

Definitely saved in the watch list. I personally think the price is unfathomably high but I'm no serious collector.

For £150 each? No. No GW LOTR figure is worth that much. That much money would be better spent buying an entire army, or getting other rare OOP models that aren't so insanely overpriced.

I think it says in the description that they are all casts. If they are its a bit much i think, would be nice to have in the collection but I wouldn't pay that for just casts of them.

Is this guy taking the mick? £600 for four models, really? And I thought the price of the Hobbit White Council boxset was ridiculous ...

Ha!
The poster obviously has a crack addiction to support.
No. No. No.
Did I say no? Because no. >.<
The price is laughable.

Would be good to have a better picture. They look ok to me but I can't afford that. The casts I've seen are normally a fair bit greyer, just seems a bit strange to have kept these and sold the rest and be listing it with a parent....

Would definitely expect better/more pictures when putting up something like that, especially if they are potentially not even properly cast models (not that you're always sure with originals, but still).
The accompanying text doesn't give me much confidence either: "He has had them for over 10 years". Even though the Uruk-hai with axe and Morgul Stalker would have been for the Two Towers journeybook (released in August/September 2006) and the Mahud for the Harad sourcebook (February 2008).

Looks like they've gone. I considered buying them briefly but couldn't justify spending 600 quid on models i already have. I paid a lot more for mine than £150 each too.

I don't believe they were originals in the auction.

Would be cheaper to hire a professional sculptor to replicate the originals :-) (Only a little bit cheaper mind)

Personally, I would never sell a rare figure. You would only regret it.

Luckily, you'd have a few hundred quid to drink your sorrows away then...

I would in a heartbeat for that kind of money. In fact I have before, not in LOTR but a previous table-top game. I acquired a game piece that there were only 8; of in the world (I didn't realize it at the time). And later became aware of it and sold it for about 25 times what I paid for it

Like JamesR, I'd sell any model for that kind of money. I just find it hard to believe people would pay that much for it.

I've paid a lot more than £600 for one model, well it was a foot and mtd actually but you get the point. Thats why i started painting on commission in the first place to fund securing the crazy rare parts of the collection.

interesting comments everyone! I think it's kind of hard to gauge a proper price for this lot, I have not seen any of these models on the open market before but since the listing has ended I guess some one was willing to pay that much, I've seen a "Frodo wearing the one ring" sell for about $100 and i think alot more of that figure were produced compared to the four in the auction. Also the listing doesn't confirm if the models are original or not, but if a bunch of casts exist I think we will start to see more of these figures up for sale

Wait, is the Mordor Uruk on the far right even rare? I swear I have at least one of that pose back home.

Thorongil? ... :E

Even though that's crazy, it’s nice to know that there are people willing to put that kind of money into our beloved hobby. Much respect :yay:

It seems very strange to spend so much money on just one figure but when you think about it it's the same as buying boxes of troops and not using them for years or ever. At least this way you have something to be proud of and not something that just looks like you went over the top ;)

Never does the phrase "more money than sense" seem more relevant.
