Not true. It was never a 100%. The Mirkwood Rangers and Palace Guard came in 10s. But yeah, I held out hope. I should have learned to not do it with this stuff anymore.....oh well.

Yes it was, they do not release FineCast Warriors in packs of 10, and they were obviously FineCast ergo 3 for £15.

I was hoping Beorn would be $40, not $50. As it is, I think I'll pass on him for the moment. As for the Gundabads, there goes me wanting them with pikes, sorry, spears. I'll jut stick with the Hunter Orcs for my extra attacks in combat. I think I will eventually get a full warband of the shield ones for Bolg to lead.

Oh yeah, and they basically just FAQed the Gundabads? In WD? That we would have to pay for? If I didn't hear it from y'all, I wouldn't have even known that the rules had changed, and I would have wasted quite a bit of money on them.

You guys in the UK are getting Beorn for 30 pounds, which is $54 Australian Dollars. But hang on..... BEORN IS $90 from GWs for us?!?! I was expecting $50-60 but $90 I just can't believe it!?!? AND its the only model from the whole Desolation of Smaug release besides taurial I was keen for. :/ Not a happy camper  :(

The WD was a big disappointment.I don't think I will waste any more time looking at them. I am not going to order anything. The new models are not the best or even the worst I have seen, but they are fine cast. I would have to like them alot better to buy them at any price. I am afraid this might be the end of my interest in any more GW models.

Thranduil is in a super limber pose, but I guess he is fabulous so no argument there. Will be getting him since he is much more battle suited for my Palace Guard war band than the first. Gundabad Orcs look mean and awesome will get 24-36 depending on how many hunter orcs I'll include. Beorn I'm not fussed, not really something I'm into. Girion will go the same way as the Laketown releases for me, not a fan of the design. The Gundabad captain looks great regardless of the Mickey Mouse helmet. I only wish they could make it more distinguishable, maybe a tattered cloak or a scenic base (I loved Leggy's and Tauriel's bases). I'm happy with the releases :)

As for the whole similarity to Uruk Hai, maybe there will be some back story to Saruman being inspired by the Gundabad armour design and using it for his Uruks since The Hobbit is before LOTR. Just a though.

Ok so are the pikes turning into spears the only rule changes for the Gundabad orcs?

The Gundabd Orcs look great but £70.00 for one warband is too much.

The one-click collections are a great idea but only with a reduction on buying everything seperatley, otherwise why not just fill your basket yourself.

Gosh, I squealed like a little school girl when I saw that GW is recognizing LOTR again lol.

... But no discounts on any of the bundles. What a wasted opportunity.

I have to say that the Gundabads looks much much better than in the leaked photos, and overall they match their movie depictions. I am glad to see such nice -or rather menacing, and intimidating- models getting released; I believe the visual appeal of a model is one of the most important factors affecting its popularity.

Hmm, those new "One-click collections" list things like the Cave Troll, the Three Hunters and foot and mounted Rohan Royal Guard but mention only "plastic and finecast models." Have some things just been re-released in fc for this?

I've been wondreing the exact same thing! Some of these models have never been made in Finecast, and the three hunters is long OOP...?? What's going on??

Three hunters is still in production as finecast. I wouldn’t get excited about RRG and a cave troll in finecast I think GW just forget to mention metal as they don’t produce metal any more.

My only pre-order was for Beorn, although hopefully I’ll get most of the others (except Thranduil) over the next few months.

I have to say that the more I see of the new Thranduil, the less of a terrible sculpt it looks. Despite this there are still a couple of things that don't look right e.g the arms/sleeves shape and the pose itself is a bit odd. However I wouldn't blame someone for getting it.

The Gundabads look nice and the more angles really show what great minis they are. In some ways I like it that they're in Finecast as there is still a lot more definition to the FC minis than plastic and, me being mainly a painter who wants to do more in the way of pure display pieces, this suits me well enough and I won't be getting any more than 1 blister of each type when I come to get them in hopefully a few months.

Girion is still the best IMO and he is the only one I'll be getting in this month. Beorn and Bear look nicer with more angles too but the bear doesn't really resemble the film version all that much. It's not really stocky enough IMO. Not sure what everyone else thinks of this...

All in all nice releases and good that WD seems to be covering SBG again. Only the second Battle Report in 1 & 1/2 years IIRC. These one-click collections are interesting too. I'd love it if, once TH is finished, they release some more LotR before 2017...

This may be the wrong thread for this, since this is about the new LOTR box sets, however, what is everyone's thoughts on this?

Is it just me, or is it crazy to have these '1-click' collections just springing up out of nowhere?

Its a cool idea but poor execution. Why do a bundle if there isn't a discount? Isn't that the typical business model to follow?
