This week's White Dwarf cover has leaked and confirms the rumours that there's an SBG battle report. It says 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Battle Report' but I think this may be a naming/licensing thing as the early rumours suggested that it was actually a series of battle reports that went through ALL of the scenarios from the Hardback rulebook (hard to believe but amazing if so!).

Either way, it's good to get some more SBG content in WD, I'll be picking it up sometime this week, the last issue when Beorn was released was a enjoyable read and well worth the £2.40 in my opinion.

Perhaps most interestingly, assuming there are no SBG models released this week (and there are no rumours of any), then this will be the first SBG battle report without any SBG releases in at least 2 years (the last one was when the dwarves had to kill the dragon). This could be a sign that, in the light of the rumoured increase in DOS sales, GW are giving SBG a little more attention - great news if so!

Nah, apparently it's all hobby related stuff, a large tool kit of some sort. Part of it has been translated as:

"Set.: lime Citadel Set of 2 limes to round the edges of thumbnails -Clean burrs Citadel: Made of steel, perfect for cleaning lines mold"

I kinda hope this is true, I'd love to buy my limes from GW but I can't help thinking something's been lost in translation here! :-)

On the other hand, if this is, as I'm translating it, some sort of thumb-clip to drag around mould lines I might well be tempted, I'm always on the lookout for someway to make that process easier.

GW Key Lime Pie?!! Nom, nom!! Maybe with the presumed spike in sales of the weekly WD that contained the Hobbit releases, they are testing to see if it is actually the Hobbit that caused it? Whatever the reason, it's great to be getting content

The rumors are indeed true. There is a battle report of some description in WD. More of a narrative. No new models but that is to be expected. Nice glossy picture of azog on the back. Pick it up guys!

"Excellent!" - to be said in the voice of an 80s Cyberman

Looks like I'll be getting my second weekly WD then. GW are getting better.

I'm a bit late to this party - what number is this WD so I can get it from GW website as a back issue?

It's White Dwarf Weekly Issue 12, available in GW stores and some independent resellers until Friday. As far as I know there's no system in place to order back issues.

You can order some back issues from the GW site, I think all issues are available digitally from Black Library and iBooks too.

The short answer no. The positive, one of the new One Ring members figures are featured. If it was not for that I would not be able to say it was interesting. The limited edition tools are not of the quality to justify the cost.
