I have just got back into the game and have learned the Warband rules which means there will be a lot more heroes in games than they used to have. While experimenting with a few army lists I have found that it is very difficult to get a decent sized average game at 500 points level since heroes burn up so many points. However at 750 points it is alright. So has the average skirmish points game shifted from 500 to 750?

I think the game still works fine at 500, you just can't take the big boy heroes. I like it, can have quick games with 500pts.

I do prefer 700 upwards though because you can fit in those awesome heroes. Boromir, Glorfindel, Witchking etc etc. At the start of the year, all the GBHL were around 500pts, now they are all 700pt upwards.

so yeah, 700+ is the new 500. but there is nothing wrong with that.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with the average game being upped a bit points wise. I was just wondering if I was on the same page as everyone else since I got into the warbands rules a bit late.

I only ever played 750 points before the DOS tournament which was 500. I like it.

I think 750 points is a phenomenal battle number. Its the first number I played for the longest time to practice for my first tourny.

From their on, I was happy with 700 but mostly 850-1000 also.

Anything less than 650-700 I become unhappy.

Its barely lets you dip your feet in so to speak to not only make a cool force, but a force with a lot of depth, fun and options.

If I do have to casually, Id never play less than probably 700.

Its the perfect platoon sized game.

I cant get into a battle that has like 2 warbands with heros, in the middle of some battle. I like to see a large scale battle instead of some battle like Mirkwood rangers dispatching the Spiders or Theodred and his little battle where he died.

Those to me dont let you get the most out of the game.

Either that, or two small battles with a friend and various forces!
