Glad to see the fellowship survive yet again. Gandalf needs to start casting immobilized a bit as his blasts fail so often lol.

I was wondering this myself, I loved following this campaign. Though I don't think he stopped doing it, as the other thread shows, I think there was just not enough time to make the reports and publish them or there just hasn't been time to do the scenarios.

Oh, one needs patience with this thread. We've waited patiently ourselves for the nights to get darker (and we do admit that Last of Us has kept us hooked on many Saturdays). I wanted to have a bit of Lothlórien terrain done before the end of Moria so that I can take a nice resolution photo of the (remainder) of the Fellowship reaching a safe haven. That is progressing nicely (should post some pics in the WIP area soon), so I'm glad to say we have continued with the campaign gameplay. In fact, we played "Escape from Dwarrowdelf" yesterday! However, I will not post a report of that until we've completed "the Bridge of Khazad-dûm", too. Due to semester break holiday for my friend, that will most likely be in another two weeks' time. But before October is over, the next batrep, with the entire rest of Moria, should be up.

I need to build another "transitional terrain piece", the Argonath, before we commence with the Breaking of the Fellowship" scenario at Amon Hen, but that batrep should be up in early December by latest. In any case, fear not - we will not abandon the campaign without letting you know... and abandoning the campaign is the least thing in our minds. It may take many years to complete, but it will be worth it - I'm sure people will sing songs about that feat for years to come!

Just keep in mind lothlorien has 3 stages of wood densing..

the 1st seems much like amon hen forest more or so like it.. high trees with alot leaves onthe floor, abundant clearings in the forest and(these are the edges of the wood mostly and it seems much like a normal forest

Image

2nd its when the forest reveals a bit more of its magical appearance

Image

The trees are thin and more golden/greyish like bark, the floor is filled with moss on the floor and look all so much more fantasy like, these are the home to the 1st malorn trees, small ones, they pocess some magic that repel orc kind and drive em mad... (one of the reasons the goblins dont like to press much forward) although at this point they should be dead by the elven patrols...

Image

the 3rd layer the forest get thicker and more variety of trees and bushes and a more greenish looking appearance...

Image

And last, but not least the city of which the elves lives, caras galadhon

Image

This will surely be a challenge for you specially the big mallorn trees in which the elves live on

Thanks Galanur, great photos! The first photo is, indeed, much like Amon Hen (and like the Lothlórien board shown in White Dwarf 272). Your photo with golden trees is akin to my vision, however - all the time in the FotR movie I missed the golden leaves, and somehow thought PJ had Lothlórien too green. After all, in the books the Fellowship was there in January-February, and during winter, as we all know, Mallorn trees retain their golden-yellow leaves. In fact, I've kinda thought of using that particular pic as a backdrop... I have plans for at least three far taller Mallorns with platforms on them, but I'll leave them for later. For now, 36 normal Woodland Scenics tall deciduous tree armatures will do the trick. But I want the Lothlórien to be distinctly different from my other forest boards, at least as far as the foliage color is concerned.

another thing you should be awared, the 1st layer of the wood (the outside ring) is indeed affected by the seasons, not the inside its a magical wood regardless :P

but if you wanna inspire on battle for middle earth lorien versions, ithey got very pretty pic on it...

Discontinued? Most certainly not, I can assure you! I could say that the next batrep is delayed, but as you know, batreps in the Celevue campaign are never late, nor are they early. They are posted precicely when they are meant to!

I do admit that my other hobby, astronomy, has eaten somewhat more time than I anticipated, and the holiday season has kept me & my friend apart for several weeks - but we will play the second part of the Bridge of Khazad-dûm during January, followed by a batrep. The Breaking of the Fellowship will follow shortly thereafter, but beyond that, there will be a longer break giving me time to paint & build terrain for the third season.

In any case, I would not discontinue this campaign without saying so. Have faith!

Faith restored, keep it up man! Just take this as encouragement that you would be sorely missed if you stopped and that everyone loves the campaign!!!!!!

Oh ok, no problem, it's just the last we heard was that we would have the whole of Moria posted by the end of October, so I did get a little worried. Looking forward to more from your campaign!

@emre43 - sorry about that, I should stop posting schedules as fate always seems to prevent me from actually realizing them. As it stands, we have already played the Durin's causeway part of the Bridge of Khazad-dûm, so there is already half a scenario completed. However, I won't do a batrep of that bit separately, but rather will write a complete one as soon as my friend and I get a free Saturday for a gaming session.

@douwepaulusma, glad you liked the thread! I will keep the thread running for several years, I reckon. Do check the Behind-the-scenes thread as well over on the WIP section of the forum.
