The white is snow, I also used some dead grass.

Here's my entry for the August painting challenge. Recently completed a move, this is the first figure I've had time to paint. It's an armored Celeborn. I'm pleased.

Very nice! I like the choice of colours and the clean precise highlighting!

Finally had time to finish a mini this weekend! I painted Sam, in his Mt. Doom pose from Return of the King. Pretty happy with how he came out. I tried to do some volcanic lighting effects around the giant slab of rock, but its hard to tell from these pictures. Not the most colorful mini (lots of brown and off-white), but all in all, I think he looks really nice.

Looking forward to tips/criticism/feedback. Painting white is tricky.

Thanks,

Yep, a great figure to paint. You could push the highlights further to pure white on the highest edges. Just a few places will do the trick.

nice nice! for your white, you can either highlight more to extremely thin skull white lines or soften the brown shadow.

Finished pics of a Grima I worked on this past weekend. This is the most productive I've been since the summer. He looks suitably creepy, and was fun to paint.

Gandalf, from Escape from Goblin Town. Pretty pleased - I think he turned out quite nice. Looking forward to painting Kili next. As always, I welcome any criticism or feedback on how I can improve.

Also, does anybody know what happened to the 360 degree pictures on games workshop's website? If I recall correctly, these used to be available for most minis, but now they seem to be much rarer. They must've gotten rid of them last time they updated the website.

Best,

Frogmorton

Looks a good job, I've got the same figure to do and hope I do as good a job.

Nice job, again the basing is excellent and the inclusion of dirt on his robes helps tie the mini and the base together.

Just finished Kili! A very difficult mini, but I'm pleased with the final product. Looks good next to Gandalf. Any criticism and advice is welcome.

Excellent all round! Loving how much detail you've picked out, and how you've done the bases too.
