 Post subject: Shields on Rivendell elves

Just wondering how people model shields onto non-spear elves. Getting the shields isn't a problem, I just can't think of a way to do it which wouldn't include either major greenstuff work, or just gluing the shields awkwardly onto their backs. I'm only going to need 5 or 6 of them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best way actually is using plastic bowmen. Cut the right arm, place the sword on the left arm which doesn't have anything. Place again the right arm and put the shield on it. Done.

Don't use swordsmen as their pose is not suitable for one handed weapon and shield, they will look awful.

Thank you for the replies!
I am tempted to remove the arms off some plastic galadhrim and use those on the rivendell elves, not entirely sure how it would turn out but it might be worth a shot i guess haha

Either the plastic swordmen or the bowmen could be converted with a little greenstuff work and attetin to human anatomy so that they don't look awkwardly posed. Even the metal/resin spearmen can do the job.
