Hi everyone, I'm fairly new the the One Ring but I've loved reading through the forum, and I love the WIP forum. I'm currently working on a Gandalf the Grey mounted (because who could afford the real one?)

I took the Saruman mounted model since I had an extra, and cut off Saruman's head and shoulders. I also cut his staff off at the top and replaced it with Gandalf's, the donor was Gandalf at Khazad Dum which I also had an extra. I also used his sword Glamdring to add to the model. If you look closely it is sheathed under Gandalf's left arm. Now I need to figure out what to do with the Khazad Gandalf with no staff or sword...

I chopped a Mines of Moria Gandalf's head and upper torso off, and filed down the two halves until they looked about right, and then glued them together. I had to greenstuff the gaps, and also fix the beard and hair. Also, I had to greenstuff a new left arm for Gandalf. Also, my mounted Saruman's horse was missing part of his front leg, so I chopped off a donor horse's leg and pinned it on, and greenstuffed the gap. I realized Saruman's staff was longer than Gandalf's so I chopped the bottom of it off...and realized I chopped too much. So I pinned some back on the bottom, and greenstuffed the gap. Whew! It pays to measure twice and cut once.

I think it should be pretty much ready to prime. After priming I'll be able to see how everything looks and decide whether or not more greenstuff is needed.

Here's everything so far:

It looks very good. If I'm not mistaken, it looks quite similar to the original?

Very nice conversion. 8) Great job blending the green stuff cloak with the metal.

Very nice idea! The pose somewhat matches Gandalf's character better than the original pose! It is also very neatly done! Good job!
