Gorgeous work on that orc dms. I have the released version and might do a similar thing. Like to think this dude stands on a rock and bangs the drum as the legions march past him. And rest of your figs are awesome too. Well done

I think this would look better on a less scenic base as that base takes way too much attention away from the amazing sculpt and the amazing paint job you've put on it.

I agree with Gothmog here! The base is too big for such a miniature

I'm really glad though that you could paint something for your own after all these amazing commission work you put out! It is also great to see one of these ultra rare miniatures painted up! A shame that he wasn't realeased, I think he looks very nice!

I really like the model. I think it can stand alone as a display piece with that base

Wow, just amazing! As much as I like the drummer that did end up released, this one is a really great looking model that I would have been happy to pay the money for at the time. Why they wouldn't release it is beyond me! Out of curiosity, was the drum a separate piece on him?

The model is all one piece buddy. I took a pic of it unpainted to to add to the S&F website at some point.

Just jokin - a lot of the unreleased models i found by accident or found during the period of time I was scouring the earth looking for the rare 4th mahud. The orc drummer was one of these accidents which i procured whilst discussing a deal on a completely different model altogether. Rumour has it that these unreleased models were given to GW staff members and must have made their way out into the world from there.

The dark powers are available to help anyone but will take their souls in payment lol

Helped me see that there was this awesome miniature out there to be got and painted!

Of course, I'd have to join the Dark Lord and sell my soul to afford one but still a guy can dream right?!

So Kev, do you think with it being one piece it may have been a pain to cast reliably? I've heard that was the issue with the 4th poses of Mahud and Mordor Uruk. Perhaps this bloke suffered the same fate?

To be honest I don't know. I can kind of see why the uruk hai scout with 2 handed axe and the 4th mordor uruk could have been difficult to cast reliably as they are pretty strange poses. The mahud is not a strange pose in the slightest and there are easily a hundred more mini's in the range which are similarly posed. Who knows?

The orc drummer i know very little about. When i first saw it while negotiating a deal on another model I had never even heard of it and had my doubts as to whether this was a true unreleased or a conversion. The body and arms are an exact match to one of the orc banners. Nevertheless I liked it so brokered it into the deal. I'm glad i did.

You did a fantastic job as one would expect.

Much of the sculpt looks like parts of released models...the Mordor orc Banner metal body, the drum and stick from the released orc drummer, and the head from one of the plastic mordor orcs. If anyone can procure those mentioned, it should be very easy to make a very close replica.

Thanks for the comments all. Onto the next model. Bolg ft and mtd was commissioned by a regular client of mines partner as a gift for their anniversary. I thought that was a pretty cool idea and an even better model choice.

Thanks for looking guys. This was quite a hard model this one. Hope the client is happy. Bigger pictures will appear in Shadow & Flame very soon but not until the client has received the model so as not to spoil the surprise.
