I do think this figure could easily be used in LoTR, one of the Rohan outposts for example or simply someone who lost the plot at Helms Deep.

That is impressive stuff! The face looks brilliant! So much detail. That captain model is one of my favourite models.

Thanks guys
Pushed this on to get the rest of the armour done. In fact I went a bit mad and now about 80% done overall. I will update some pics soon.

highlights are very well placed along with the nice deep shadows.

Well done, am reminiscing when I used to pull my hair out trying to get NMM down.

Wow! You've really outdone yourself this time. The curved armour plates are outstanding. I am so looking forward to seeing this finished.

The photos are also very clear and seemingly representative.

Thanks all. I've pushed it a little further in the shadows. The sword I am happier with and overall I have just pushed the contrast a little.Image

Mally - nothing new, but - this is amazing! 8)
You have really improved your NMM over the last couple of miniatures, it is incredible! The armour looks reallly nice and the contrast and transitions on basically everything is so good! What do you have in mind for the base?

Cheers,
Bennet

Good to have you back my young friend. Thanks for your comments, they are always appreciated.
I will hold off spilling the beans on the base for now and will save it for when this is completed. Lets hope I can do it justice.
I have the Banner Bearer to do next and he will be even more of a challenge with all the intricacies of the banner.

It looks like you used purple to help shade the golden armor.

Am I right?

Spot on. I have been in consult on CMON with how to push this and we felt it needed a purple glaze in the deepest spots. The consensus is it worked which I am delighted about as I took a chance.
I am currently in the process of writing a tutorial for my blog on how I did this.
