Hello,
I would like to ask a question regarding the points given to the team that has a banner in the end of a "to the death" scenario.
What happens if the someone plays with a team like goblin town or moria, that hey do not have banners to begin with. Do their opponents still gain the two points (in case they finish the game with a banner in their side) for having banner, while their opponent doesn't or do they not gain the points?
Thanks

They do get the points, so you have to kill his banners very fast, otherwise, it will be very difficult to win.

Yep, unfortunately there's nothing you can do about this and some armies start the game with an unavoidable disadvantage before a single dice has been rolled.

It's my least favourite of all the scenarios and the banner VPs are a large part of that.

Would be great if both armies simply got a banner-carrying model for that scenario, or some other figure (with or without much in-game effect) to protect.

It may also help if models with a banner-effect would count as being banners for the scenario. While those tend to be more difficult to kill than a warrior with a flag, unlike banners they can't be passed to other figures. This would at least allow e.g. Moria (drum) and Shire (Frodo) to have better odds at winning this.

Simplest solution is of course to include a banner one way or another if you know that (there is a chance of) this scenario being played on a tournament.

I'm not sure whether a tournament would allow this, but I usually do for friendly games as long as the rule reads "...counts as a banner..." rather than "...treated as a banner...".

It really should be something along the lines of "Nominate one of your heroes. This cannot be your army leader or an Independent Hero. He counts as a banner. If he is alive at the end of the game... VP stuff..."
