Here is my finished entry for the April challenge.

ImageImageImageImageImage

Crucium - I have applied a very thin purple glaze to the shaded areas of the green banner, I think it has helped pull it in line with the rest of the figure, what do you think ?
The bottom section of the base, below the main rock, is actually darker than the photo suggests.
I have to admit to being pleased with how the NMM has gone. My next thing is to try this technique on a bigger figure.

stunning as usual gandalf.

May I have your paint recipe for the blue? It seems much brighter than the blue I usually paint, and I quite like this brighter shade more than my darker tone of blue.

Thank you
Feanor - Base with VMC Royal Blue and add VMC Sky Blue to the highlight. Increase the Sky Blue to 50/50 then add VMC Glacier Blue. Work this to pure at the highest points.
Apply an all over very thin glaze of Royal Blue will help the blend and pull everything together.
Re apply the Glacier Blue.
GW Liche Purple in glazes to create the depth around the belt and in the folds. Apply more layers the deeper you go.
Thinned black ink into the deepest folds.

That is something else! You should be seriously proud of that. Both the painting and base look so incredible real. Well photographed too. By far my favourite of all your pieces so far.

Excellent painting! The nmm in particular is very well done. :yay: I think you are definitely going to do well in the challenge.

Thanks very much fellas. I have enjoyed how this has developed and I've learnt a thing or two in the process, that's never a bad thing.

Fantastic work as always. The blue cloak stands out as particularly exceptional to me.

What a beauty! Excellent work Mally, that glaze seems to have done the trick nicely and the miniatures sit well within their environment (as any good Elf should) and of course I've put my vote in.

My thanks for pointing out it needed something else. That's what I love to hear, good honest feedback. Without it I have very little chance of improving.
At the moment this could be my best on CMoN, 8.9 at present. I still need 14 votes though to make it count.
Thanks for giving me your vote

Moving swiftly along I have something called The Diorama Challenge to get moving along and with that in mind here is my Goblin King so far.
I have been aiming for a grittier look and bloodshot very angry eyes.
Any feedback, good or bad is greatly appreciated
