When a model joins a combat as spear support, what happens to his control zone? I asked on last alliance and the members there concluded that the model's control zone remains active, but no one could cite a rule which indicated as such. One ringers, what say you? Does the spear supports control zone remain or vanish when they are providing spear support?

It remains, a model's control zone stays until they are in B2B with an enemy model.

After studying the rules on movement, charging, control zones and spears, I agree. The key word in all of this is charge. Charging is what allows you to go B2B with an opponent, and it is that charge which cancels out the Control Zone and nowhere in the description of providing spear support is the word charge used. This indicates to me, that without a charge, without B2B occurring, the spear support's control zone remains.
