Hey guys,

I was doing some list building and I realized that I wanted to run my front rank of dwarves with just a shield and sword and save myself a point per troop and skip the shield on that front row. However, there are no models of dwarves with just swords.
There are a couple, sort of, that come with the balista set, 1-2 but even those guys don't have shields so that aren't great.
There is one dwarf with a shield, spear and a shield in the 3 pack of dwarves with shields that would probably be a good fit but its just one of the models in a three pack that costs 18 pounds.. Not really sustainable to make an entire front line of 10-12-18, troops equipped that way.

Has anyone figured out a good way to represent that equipment set? Maybe just use the maddock guys and say they have shield and swords instead of the maddocks since at least that way they look different?

Ideas or thoughts?
P

Why not just paint a bunch of spear ends red or give some guys alternative shield colors? That is basically what people do for the specially upgraded troops anyway. Then you can play them either way and both you and the other player will be able to tell right off the bat.

On one of GBHL Steve's Hobby Vlogs a while back he used some of the Iron Hills Dwarves from the 12-pack. He chopped off their spears and have them plasticard swords.

Nice! I'll look for that. That seems reasonably doable. I wanna squeeze that extra dwarf in per warband ;p

Any idea what number video it is or any other identifying qualities? I searched around a bit and couldn't find it :/

I can't remember to exact number but I'll have a check later. If you scroll through the GBHL Hobby Vlogs playlist it will probably be somewhere near the top as there haven't been the most Hobby Vlogs recently. If I find it I'll put a link on.
