I have a mind? Ah - all those accusations of mindless violence emanating from the goblins must be untrue then...

BTW, that last pic is the best one yet - the rich texture of myriad scales brings to mind the famous self-description by Smaug (to Bilbo):

Quote:
My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death

Tenfold shields...

Great work mate the dragon just keeps getting better and better - it is remarkable how much variety you can get in such minute scales

Hmm, that's a good question.

I'll rephrase.

:D Buying hundreds and hundreds of figures and storing them in boxes in the roof is one of my weaknesses. Perhaps our minds are more similar than you imagine, Dorthonion!

Not in the roof - all three thousand plus are in a mapchest. The main problem I have (apart from lack of time to work on hobby stuff) of storage for terrain. Large pieces of terrain. I probably need a warehouse.

Mapchest - Pirate's of the Caribbean Four: Mad Dorth's Chest

No? Okay...

If you decide to burry it somewhere, forward the map to me...I promise I'll keep it safe. Not makin' any promises of the details of said safety, mate, but I can a' promise I'll treat them as me very own.

Getting better by the minute - that array of dorsal spines is really quite beautiful - they mimic the line of the spine (have you been studying a lot of lizards recently?)

Ok - you can do 1 hobbit hole per 1000 scales completed ... :-)

Looking real nice Natarn. I think you should do 2000 scales at a time before a break

Right! That's it, then!
One Hobbit Hole for every scale!

Er, maybe not...

I have started HH no.2 but I'll post pics later in my other WIP.

I got Smaug out today, admired him, and put him away again.
Sculpted part of the HH1 roof instead.

excellent work, from what I can see the musculature of the leg shows through the scales quite nicely, which is lacking in a lot of dragon minis.
