Painting Challenge: Ent!

i've just added my ent in my personal gallery,it is a wip and i think i'm going to finish the work before a week.it is my second sculpt of ever,comments and hints are welcome

That is shaping up very nicely! The key to a good Ent is giving him a characterful face. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Here's my proof pic:

It was sculpted from scratch with FIMO and Green Stuff (for the branches and leaves). The idea was to take progress pics but I kind of got excited and skipped it after a bit. I do have a couple of early stages if you are interested though.

Stunning work, Miguel! That Ent looks amazing! I love the bark and the areas of moss. The leaves look good as well. All around great job so far. I really look forward to seeing him fully painted!

I particularly like the vines draping from the arms to the body.
You set the standard for the last competition and it looks like you are going to do it again

Looks like I'll have to do something totally OTT to have a chance this time around

Thanks guys, I'm glad that you like it. The pose is slightly based on Linden, but I had some other tree whos names escapes me at the moment for the texture and colour. I'm actually pretty happy with the way it came out in that department. The leaves though could be a lot better... they are completelly different from the actual tree I'm thinking and, well, they're not great

After posting the mini I actually started painting it and, errm, I think I'm done. There's a couple of things that I might come back later but, for the moment, I'm calling it finished.

I think it looks great. Its a cool sculpt to begin with and the painting is very nicely done too IMHO, I like the colours you have used as well. :yay:
