Greetings Minions,

I'm attempting to paint up a nice Wild Warg Chieftain in a wintery colour scheme but I need some ideas for the colours to use. Some may have seen my other white warg I painted for a diorama in my gallery but I'm not 100% happy with that one. I've googled images of white wolves and I'm looking to do it mostly white with a greyish mane ( ) but if any of you have some good ideas I'd like to hear them.

Cheers,
Pinky.

I certainly hope you're not considering the WD white & orange color scheme. I thought that was terrible. Maybe add some blue highlights to give them a "cold" look?

Urgh! Definitely not, they look hideous! I was thinking along the lines of a bluish grey, I'll have a play around with it.

That's what I was about to suggest.
Maybe put a few with a hint of brown in the base? Like they've only recently turned colors?

Try mixing fortress grey with bestial brown as your base. 8) Then add white for higlights.

I've got something on the go at the moment so I'll hopefully get some pics up in a couple of days, working two jobs doesn't leave much time for anything else!

I actually quite liked the White and Brown wargs. Just me then I guess.

I have some wargs so I might paint some up and see what are some good colours.

Here's a pic of one I managed to scrounge off the net:

They look a bit odd for my taste.

Yes thats it. I even tried to emulate it in places on my Giant furs.

They're a little bit dark cause I used my phone. I know it's a little bit hard to see, I tried to keep the mane and along the spine a nice dark grey to keep him more wolf like.
I'm pretty happy with him but I'm open to any suggestions.

I don't use GW paints. So I don't know what advice to give. I like ivory over brown. I painted these when orcs could ride wolfs in warhammer
I like what you have done so far :!:

It's coming along nicely. I think you might like to add some very light blue highlights.

That looks great. :yay: Maybe add another very light highlight, not everywhere, maybe just on the mane and the large muscle masses?

Thanks for the comments guys, sorry about the garbage pics, I'll get some better ones up in a few days hopefully.
I painted this one: white primer and going over it with skull white to get any bits I missed with the spray; black wash; blue wash (both a bit heavier in the mane); drybrushed the body white then the spine, in order, fortress, codex then a light d-b of chaos then a light d-b of white. Mane done the same way as the spine.

Ok, so I've finally managed to get a bit more done on the Warg Chieftain. I'd call him finished but I'm open to suggestions, I just have to redo the base as it got "snow" all over it.
