Painting Challenge: Wild Warg Chieftain!

Image

Hello everyone! Welcome to the thread for the June Painting Challenge! Again this is a couple of days late going up so you may have untill midnight on July 3rd to complete your entries.

Rules

1. A miniature is decided upon before each monthly painting challenge, this months' being the Wild Warg Chieftain. It is not required that you paint this mini, however it is preferred. Here is a list of miniatures you can paint for this months' painting challenge, in order of preference:

* Wild Warg Chieftain
* Any other warg related miniature (for example Mounted Sharku, or Wild Warg)

2. To enter the painting challenge, the miniature you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniature 'pre-painted' (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme).

3. You may join the painting challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT of July 3rd, 2011. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged.

4. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. The community will choose one winner and one runner-up from the completed miniatures. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, artist improvement, etc. In previous painting challenges, the winner and runner-up recieved prizes in the form of gold coins, however with the websites current situation, gold coins are not available to give as prizes, so no prize is available at the moment.

5. Winners from the previous month are able to participate in the next months painting challenge, but they are not eligible to win in consecutive months.

Good luck to everyone!

I got the dog - but it's way to big  i wanted to convert it - but it would be oversized :(
could serve as Carcharoth maybe.. I won't start a scratch built one - it would consume to much time. It would take to long to finish that off.

Ok i am going for this one :) This is what i have got so far -
Image
I removed the collar - he doesn't need one
i added greenstuff on several places - there will be fur added on those pieces.
I think i ll also try to make the face scary now he is to much of a softy to be morgoths dog
Just hoping the greenstuffing doesn't snoop away all the time :)

Wow, thats one ugly cretin.

Are you going to reshape the face of the dog to make it look like a warg?

No no  warg face; I like the more wolf like face. On some moments wargs remind me to much of bears...

That poor doggy looks too nice to be turned into a vicious warg. :(

Nice work Garmenhord, still, you should use him as the giant warg from TTA video game :P
I just love the way he looks with all the chains and arrows in his flesh, lovely isn't it? I won't join this competition, I'm not really into wargs right now and I still have a lot of work on my King's Champion and my diorama, but best of luck to all of you! May the best painter/converter win! ;)

Ty, not much changes so far. Still gotta do the nails and some more on the face. The rest of the fur is well enough i think. I ll upload when i basecoated it. Not enough changes to make it worth a post. Gotta wait till my parent's aren't home to continue tough. My mom is home alot this week. :x

got some troubles for school coming up so no time to paint up right away. I gotta finish my animation of in a week or something but they send me a long list of things they want to change or improve... (some parts are really about personal taste i think..)
