I think this is the right place to ask for advice concerning these, but as I was sculpting some of the werewolves for my Angmar, I noted how much green stuff it took, and wondered the cost about making eight 'wolves that are almost as big as Cave Trolls, but I noticed that their hind legs were roughly the same size as wargs ones and I was having trouble with the heads, so I wnder if it would make sense for me to have four scratch-built 'wolves and four werewolf/warg hybrids, using the hind legs, rear and head of plastic wargs on them. I would like as much advice as possibele on whether it would be a good idea, mostly because I feel it would be disrespectful for the poor wargs to cut them up, even though my 'wolf pack iis more important.
:) Please can you help me decide whether werewolves are important enough to dismember four wargs. The other two can be replacements when I don't need to take warg chieftains.

From a purely selfish viewpoint: yes, you should do it. I'd very much like to see the result of this transformation.

Why not try using Milliput, as it's cheaper than GS (and I think the finer ones are at least as good). Do most of the figure with the cheap stuff, and only use the GS if you feel the need to add detail with a material you're comfortable with.

I don't know if it's worth bothering to make them for the game; I've got one from 1980, but haven't put him in a LOTR game yet.

Thankyou for your replies. Angularity, I think I will use milliput next time as it is significantly cheaper, but at the moment, because it sounds like an interesting project and because I have a £20 GW gift voucher, I will proceed with my hybrids, although it may take weeks for the wargs to arrive.

Personally, 9and I've suggested it a few times since the book came out), I want to try essentially just reshaping the warg (with greenstuff fur for filling the odd gaps that would be made). I may replace paws with orc hands for weapons though...

I would like to see what you come up with. I would suggest using D&D or Mage Knight figures as the base for your conversions. They are very cheep. Using cheep figures as the base for conversions will save on green stuff.
I always thought of LOTR wear-wolfs as demon possessed wolfs rather than shape changers. There are lots of Shape changers too.

Hashut's Blessings - that's what someone at my local GW suggested
Old Chestnut - before I read the Silmarillion, I thought they were shapechangers, after reading it, I did not. However as GW lists them as infantry, I'd thought I'd revert to somewhere in between, maybe the werewolves are to wargs as vampires eg a horn-removed Gulavhar are to bats.

Did they come out well?

Werewolf translates as man-wolf so it's technically a cross between man and wolf whether it be a bipedal form of wolf, a man that can cange into wolf and vice versa or a creature part man and part wolf (either like a minotaur or akin to the common lycanthrope imagery).

Pictures will be posted as soon as possible, and yes those are basically the two ways you can get a half-man, half-wolf, I'm not bothered which way it is as long as the wolf part looks good they're the best parts.
