I would recommend the following if your sticking to citadel paints: dark flesh, bestial brown, scortched brown, tin bitz, chainmail, chaos black. If not, similar substitutes are in abundance, I always use citadel paint now, after bad experiences with others though.

I only need to buy the units then get three paints, which should be good for my budget.

All have my miniatures that I 'think' are in the attic have currently alluded me.

Maybe they've been taken hostage by the attic ghoul.

I didn't manage to find any, but I am going to GamesWorkshop with my gran on Monday, hopefully I can afford a box of Uruk-Hai Scouts and the paints I need for them.

That would leave(to collect):
1x Ugluk
1x Lurtz
1x Cave Troll
12 x Moria Goblins (got that covered hopefully!)
3x Feral Uruk-hai

Good luck. By the way, I've just remembered that you have to be careful with troll and ferals not to become a target of vollet fire, this isn't a problem f your oponant hasn't heard of it though. And when buying ugluk, you have to pay for Vrasku unless you can find him somewhere else.

Thanks, and I will probably just be bringing them to the GamesWorkshop in Dundee or Aberdeen and seeing if anyone if up for a game. Also, I will just get Ugluk off eBay as I don't want to buy Vrasku.

GuardianoftheCitadel.

You haven't reached the model limit, for 500-1000pt games the model limit is 75 and since this is a 600pt list, you can have up to 75 people. BTW 600pts is the "sweet spot" for evil armies, they can easily get the extra 25 models whereas most good armies might not even be able to hit the 50 model limit set by 500pt games in a 600pt army.

Anyway i like the list, maybe drop the troll and a goblin, then you have a pretty nice 500pt list, i know you lost out on a troll but the brute force lost by him is made up for by the strength of the uruk hai complementing the goblins numbers.

Thanks for that, I've never read about model count in comparison to points etc.

I think removing the troll would be a good idea as he will most likely be shot before he even reaches the battle, depending on the size of the game board.

I will go on the Army builder and see what I can do.

I like your list, but I'm not sure you'll need that many goblins with shields.

I would change it but it's so much easier to collect equal numbers of models like that.

So I have my tactics now:

Ugluk heads forward with the 15 Uruk-hai scouts to take on the enemies warriors etc. Lurtz remains behind and sticks with the seven Uruk-hai scouts with Orc bows while the Feral Uruk-Hai stick close by to intercept any attacking foes.

Durburz will stick with the Goblin forces and give support to Ugluk and his troops. The Ringwraith stays with the Goblin archers to help them stop breaking along with immobilising enemy heroes or approaching cavalry, which the goblins can then attempt to wound or kill them. The Ringwraith also will act as an 'intimidating guardian of the goblins".

What do you think?

Your tactics could work, its a good use of a budget wraith, Lurtz is in a good place as are Feral uruks, I'd suggest that its quite good, the gobbo achers won't flee anyway if they don't end up further from Durburz, but I like your chances.

Thanks, once this army is collected I will take it upto GamesWorkshop in Aberdeen and play someone and see how it works. I may eventually switch it around and add some Wargs with the Wraith on horse back.

Looks good! 8) As you get back into the hobby more you can add more elite troops such as Blackshields, Goblin Prowlers, etc. The only thing I might change is to give the Ringwraith one more Might (I know you already have a huge amount of Might, but without many elite troops you'll really have to rely on your Might for Heroic moves etc. to engage the enemy on your terms). That extra point is also helpful to ensure that the Wraith passes his Fate test if he's unfortunate enough to take a wound...

Like you said, I would also look at adding some Warg Riders soon - as of now you have no speed and will struggle in certain scenarios (if you decide to play scenarios from the Legions of Middle Earth book). Wild Wargs would also work... even though they don't count as cavalry per se they're fast moving, and you can buy a pack of plain Wargs pretty cheap (by Games Workshop standards that is).

Thanks for that.

I am currently postponing me army as I am building two small skirmish parties of good and evil (so my sister can play me) then we are building a game board.

I'll get it completed eventually. :(

For tactics I would keep the wraith close to your main battler line to transfix any enemy hero's, if your goblin archers attract some cavalry good, they might be able to kill some with shooting, and then they can hopefully distract the cavalry for long enough that by the time the cav. is done mauling your poor goblin archers, they can't really help with the rest of the battle. Your goblin archers aren't going to kill much, but if they can distract some opponents cavalry for a while, then they have done their job, even if they get destroyed. I'd have durburz, and ugluk with the goblins , then the wraith with the uruk scouts and the ferals behind the scouts. The scouts should be close to the group of goblins, but not necisarilly right beside. Lurtz can go with the uruk archers, who can actually hopefully cause some damage with their bows, and then charge them into caombet, with fight four and strength four (as well as lurtz) you don't want them to just be sitting around for the whole game, especially with their 4+ shoot and dinky orc bows. You should put ugluk by the goblins so you can kill one of them for the auto standfast, rather than a 9 point uruk.
Hope that helps :)

Thanks for all that info, but i'm afraid it was unnecessary to an extent!

My sister is getting into table top gaming so we are heading into an academy class for painting SBG figures on Sunday so we are buying some Dwarf Warriors to face my existing goblins then I am moving onto some Warhammer 40k pieces and such so I ain't building a big army like this one.
