having a bit of a brain fart here, but do models gain an extra attack for having two hand weapons? I know that the Twins and Gimli both state that they can fight with a weapon in each hand and gain an attack to what is listed on their profile, but does that also translate to a model such as a Feral Uruk-hai whose description specifically states "armed with two hand weapons" yet does not state that an "extra attack is included in the profile above"?

Thanks

Read the first post again, two hand weapons =/= twohanded weapons ;)

From what i gather it is a no, they may just have more attacks on their profile, like the Feral's having 2 rather than 1. Both Gimli and the Twins feature a rule that states they may use their weapons in a certain fashion rather than just a general weapon.

No, they get what's in their profile. Gimli and some others have special rules to clarify their abilities. Many warrior models that have 2 attacks also have two hand weapons (ferals, watchers of karna), but not all (sentinels, berzerkers).

If it did give a difference, similar in fashion to the one the Twins have i would pay points for it, i mean a few extra points for potential three attack Ferals sounds good to me.

Ferals have two attacks because they have two hand weapons, or atleast that's how i interpret it.

But a Berzerker has two attacks but he only has one weapon (well on the model).

If they had a rule that they got an extra attack it Trapped or something would be good for Ferals, they just seem a bit basic and nothing special, though i bet they are a model that is much better in WoTR and just a profile in SBG to make the model useable.

Feral Uruks were in SBG years before WOTR came out, and worked well.

They have 2 attacks because that's how good they are, just as a Sentinel gets 2 attacks even though they have only one weapon.

the ferals are odd though... Because you can pay 13 points for a feral, or pay 15 for a berserker with +1 defence as well as a two-handed weapon. A pretty good deal if you ask me. Want your berserker to get support from your pikes? Use his knife and his ~still~ 2 attacks. Aka a feral. :yay:

Ferals are less than 13 by an amount that makes the point difference work out exactly :)

SBG needs a cleanup. I think the original rules gave you -1 unarmed or with a knife, so having to use a 2H weapon wasn't really a disadvantage. FWIW, when I use berzerkers I usually use them as 2H just because I believe that was the original intent.

Ferals are 12pts lol, the lower points cost in TTT journeybook counts than the higher one in the LoME book according to the FAQ :P

Though i remember the day when Elves didn't have Elven Blades but THW and Berzerkers could choose to fight one or two handed, stupid i know but that is what the old rules were like.

Yeah, I wish there wasn't the change to give everyone a dagger unless stated otherwise. I really think Berserkers should be 2H ONLY. that's how I'll only ever play them regardless of the rules allowing me to choose. I mean...where the heck are they hidding that dagger? :? And by getting rid of the auto-dagger the Elf Blade becomes interesting again because now you have a weapon that can be used 1H or 2H and is actually special again.

And Elf Archers will count as unarmed unless they pay the premium for the Elf Bow and Blade, as it should be :P

But to be honest i would be happy to have Berzerkers as THW only, makes more sense as they are only really equipped with a THW, not a stupid dagger too.

Elf archers are not unarmed according to newer version of rules.

But they should be like Berzerkers should only have a THW, it makes no sense.
