With the possible exception of Thrydan Wolfsbane, I'd have to agree with you there. The new Cave Drake is pretty awesome too, as is that Red Scorpions model in the What's New Today, well, today:

I'll toss in a vote for the new Elladan and Elrohir models; amazing sculpts, especially compared to the old version of the twins.

The most dynamic Aragorn sculpt that reflects Viggo Mortensen portrayal of Aragorn IMO is Breaking of the Fellowship boxset and by far my favorite. Not to mention, this boxset is continually getting more and more rare to find.

My favorite is the Plastic Uruk with shield that's waving his sword and shield in the air. I think it really sums up wat Uruks are about (brute, kickass violence).

For a hero it would be Saruman from the Escape of Orthanc set. Wish I could get that somewhere :( .

Thanks for resurrecting this thread Pinky, I totally forgot that I had started it. Yeah I agree that there are a lot of nice models, bilbo, khazad-dum gandalf and boromir with horn all look great.

In terms of worst I dont remember the old Arwen model and cant think one one that I really dislike at the moment.

Actually it was TerrorOfTheNorth but thanks anyway :-D

Worst, maybe the new Faramir model that everyone was bagging a while ago, haven't seen it in the flesh yet so just based on the atrocious picture GW uses to promote it.

Yes I think that faramir model is pointless and horrid, the colour scheme games Worksop show it in is too medieval and it looks far too boxy!

I've not seen the new Faramir in person but really don't like it from the pic at all. Probably never get it.

The original Arwen was horrid in my opinion. I was so glad when they came out with the new one. Now however I want to try to track down one of the originals for an alternate use. Still cringe seeing that face but if it's used in the service of Evil it's ok. 8)

Really? They'd be my nominations for the worst models. Not LOTR-y or Elf-y at all.

Not sure, but probably Saruman. He's kinda easy to paint (white on finecast is pretty easy) and he looks just like you would expect him to if he was inspecting his army for Orthanc.
