Hi there,
This is an odd order to be doing a work in progress as i have already finished the work of converting the mini but i will post for painting progress etc.
Sorry for the pics being a little odd.

Basically I wanted a decent Boromir captain of the white tower model as the gw one without the banner of minas tirith seemed a bit static and didnt represent gondor's mighty hero in combat very well....

I used the new minas tirith commander's body for the starting point.
Firstly I sawed his head off and replaced it with boromir's from the boromir captain of minas tirith model.
I then swapped the captains sword with boromir's- cutting so i could also transfer the hilt of the sword.
Boromir C.o.t.w.t's horn was also transfured with much difficulty as i tried to keep the figure in one piece while trying to take the horn from his waist.
I made Boromir's shield using green stuff- my first time with the stuff, having to add to it's thickness later as it was far too thin.
Green stuff also made boromir's right hand shoulder pad and upper arm as well as helping to make the head look more in place after hair was sculpted on it (cant really see it on the images).
I cut part of the orc that the original commander was standing on off with pliers and then covered the remainder of it in blue tac and sculpted some steps for boromir to be climbing on the top, green stuff was then put on top and sculpted to look like crumbling stone, a new fallen orc was then added to the base...

I think he is pretty much done now...all he needs is some paint

painted W.i.p pics will be coming too... :legolas:

An original and well executed conversion. Nice job. I look forward to seeing how it looks when painted.

Also just put together this bridge for the first game with my new Boromir...
only took an hour and a half to make and paint.
the base is thick polystryne and the sides of the bridge are foamboard, the 'wooden' walkways to the bridge are made from cd cases snapped in half and slanted. Brown card was added on top and wood was simply drawn.
with any spare foamcard i made corner sections for fallen buildings but they can also be put on the bridge to make it look different every game.

sorry for the odd style of picture uploads i need to fix my camera.

Very interesting bridge. Where would it be located? (what city?)
Great job on Boromir as well!

oooo I like it! Your Boromir came out well and looks quite unique to all the other models. The start to your bridge is coming on well, perhaps add some brick work to the stone - is it foamcore your using?

Your King's Champion looks far more realistic than GW cheesy one's. Good job, from now on I can picture yours when I think about the model rather than theirs (I hope)
