I was under motivated for the painting contest, BUT was majorly motivated in losing wt. For the past 4wks I was hitting the gym/diet than the paint. :D !!!Lost 45#'s!!! :D

If no one else is willing to do the monthly contest? I'm still going to flow with this past months challenge. I have already painted up The Nine Riders, some wargs...but shy of the 25pt requirement...did I mention I lost 45#?? :-D

I had worried about this outcome..... damn lack of patience. Never did build up again and was otherwise busy with school. Never ever enter in THREE painting competitions in one month. You'll go insane and become a Bieber to boot.

I so should have enetered, I had nearly 200 models assambled in a week, and painted in a second week. It would give my motivatipon to be bbothered to take pics of the finished modesl which I still cannot be bothered to do.

I still call a moral victory in that I posted models (even if incomplete and pointless). lol. I'm not entering ANOTHER bieber painting challenge when I still have to deal with the Warhammer Escalation League I'm in. Too many Bretonnian Knights to paint every month. Gah!

I think we'll save the Bieber challenge for next month when most everyone finds their groove again.

You should join us avenger. All of us Canadians are going Bieber crazy for our Canadian idol. Besides you could use an avatar.

Nice to have you on board again Scarpe, hopefully this time around you'll break your streak. Hope more will join in.

This time around I was more or less thinking this for ideas:
-Last one in points becomes a Bieb, no quota (need at least 3 participants)
-Do your own thing & meet your own goals, complete those unfinished models you have by the end of the month
-Meet the small points quota of 12 points
-Building a new army, complete a number/specified points of models from a single faction

Any other ideas for the challenge let me know.

I was going to suggest limiting it to a single faction for those participating, so this all sounds good.

Sorry Sacrilege. I'll have to pass for this month. I need to somehow finish Helm's Deep for next month and so will have little time for anything else.
Maybe in May. But then again, that's Graduation.

No prob Wah Wing and congratulations beforehand on graduating! High School, College?

@ ScarpeIron, I'll let you set the limits for next month. We have until next week before we start. Nothing too drastic though, I want to be enjoying my time outside as well you know. So let me know and I'll post the official rules on April Fools.

Thanks Sacrilege. It's High school that I'll be graduating. Not quite ready for college.
We'll see how busy things get. Shouldn't be too busy that I can't get something painted. ;)

Bieb Challenge III

Faction

Complete 25 points worth of models from a single faction which includes at least 1 hero.

Participants
    Chris GoM
    ScarpeIron
    Sacrilege83

Challenge requires at least 2 participants to be official. As of April 1st and thereafter a participant can enter any time. The challenge ends May 1st at the same hour this was posted. Participants must announce they're taking part in the challenge and provide entry proof photos, models can already be assembled and primed, just not painted. Once you enter you can't back out so think it through for a long while before participating. This challenge is made to reduce backlog and is separate from the Paint Me An Army WIP, but still counts towards it for the people who are keeping score. Those that want to normally participate in the Community WIP without being in the challenge, just ignore this post.

The point values of the models painted goes as such:

-Foot model (25mm base), horseless rider, riderless mount (40mm base) = 1point
-Calvary model/monster (40mm base) & small siege machine (excluding crew) = 2 points
-Large monster (Mordor Troll, The Terror Gulhavar, Eagle etc) & siege machine (excluding crew) = 6 points
-Flying Nazgul including black rider = 8 points
-Balrog = 10 points
-Very large monster (Dragon, Cave Drake) = 12 points
-Mumakil (excluding crew)= 20 points

The quality of the paint job and base work is not judged, but it is expected that every detail is painted to the fullest with more than three colors applied on the model. We don't want to see any primed models with small amounts of colour posted up here as finished!

Loser(s) must apply the photo below as the profile pic for the full month of May:
Image

As well as apply the following line in their profile signature for a full month:
I <3 Justin Bieber

Participants must apply the consequences of the Bieb if one of the following apply:
    1) You fail to meet the challenge's points quota for this month which is: 25 points from a single faction which includes at least 1 hero.
    2) You've entered the challenge, but failed to provide any proof photos of your finished work on time.
    3) You've resigned from the challenge. Likely because the going got tough.

Failure to comply with these consequences will ban you from future challenges and will gain you the reputation on these boards as a member that doesn't keep his word. OOOOoooooOOOOooooohhhhhh. :P
Unless you take up the charge later, then one can be allowed to enter again.

If there's any questions, ask away or any suggestions, criticisms or ideas at all for future challenges let them be read!

You don't have to worry about time stamping proof pics anymore, I'll just take it on faith that people don't do headstarts or other varying ways of cheating. This is more of a self-competing/self-rewarding challenge.

Let me know Chris if you're in.

edit: Here's my proof pictures, 25 models in total:
2 Haldirs

8 Lothlorian Wood Elves

15 Galadrim Elves
