Evil Elite at 1000pts / Shagrat?? THE RESULT!

hey, just whipped up this extremely elite evil army for 1000 pts games. Should be fun to use and i wont be using it competitively. When i say competitively i mean not in tournaments or in-store games, just me and my friend, but i would still like to win :L . So please give your thoughts and bear in mind that i wont be giving this army a complete overhaul if you dont think its good, just ways to improve it please

Black Guard Drummers are Heroes not Warriors, they can't be part of another Hero's Warband, and Dwellers are Warriors not Heroes so must be part of a Hero's Warband.

Swap the Orc Captain for Gorbag or Grishnakh for more Might. You may want a cheaper Ringwraith too, maybe the KoU, though the W-K is nice.

Also, it is illegal to write the pts values of individual models.

An elite force, indeed. Make use of the hard-hitting elements to shut down as much as you can of your enemy's power, while the rest of your warriors hold off the main body of enemy troops.

If you were looking for a more elite situation, I would change the normal orcs for Morannons.

Okay first of all the drummer was legitimate because a hero can be part of another heroes warband, just you have to choose one to lead it. But i noticed that my orc warband was over the twelve model limit so i decided to take out ten of the orcs and put them into a new warband under the Drummer and then put the dweller in with one of them.

and thanks for the tip about individual points, i just thought it was models profiles that were illegal to post :roll:

And Valamir thanks for the tips and i would swap them for Morannons if i could find the points :-X

No you cannot put a hero in another hero''s Warband, unless you have dual profile heroes such as Elladan & Elroir, Sharkey & Worm, King's Champon, these are the execptions to the rule. The Drummer must be on his own, with no accompnying troops (bad for such a poor fighter).

Black Guard Drummers are useless in a Warband with no Uruk-hai in it.

Dwellers in the Dark are Moria not Mo5rdor, you would need a Moria hero to lead it eg Durburz, Goblin Captain, Warg Chieftain etc.

Reading back i see ive been outwitted

Its amazing what you realized you missed the first time reading over. To solve the problem i removed the 4 orcs with two handed weapons and swapped the drummer for an orc captain and removed the dweller, leaving me with a glorious 115pts to fill up with the spider queen!

I think I ike the look of that army.

You could swap the Stalkers for orc spearmen, but that would detract from your main idea, so I would leave it be.

Just wondering would it be worth swapping some models out for Warleader Shagrat? His stats are OTT and he looks like a great model to play with and really fits in with my elite theme

Shagrat isn't OTT, but he is very good. You could swap the W-K or the Black Guard Captain for Shagrat if you want.

Depending on the overal model count, yes. More so than a more difficult model like Gothmog.

But is 60 models high enough for 1000pts? Any Harad or goblin army would demolish me, and lets not forget i have barely any spear support in this list so i would have low attacks in most combats.

Most 1,00pt armies will be between 60 and 70 models. Your not too low. Goblin armies poor fight should help you, and Hardarim are not Horde armies anymore. You could do wiith spear support though. If you want tio just squeezer Shagrat in either drop these: "Warband 6 / Orc Captain / 10 orc warriors (4 w/spear, 4 w/ shield)" or the Witch-king. If you want to go smaller, drop a few of your elites for spears. An elite army cna beat a Horde one, you just need to be more tactful about it.

Shagrat the Warleader is definitely worth taking. Particularly with the elite theme. I would leave some kind of ringwraith to give him magical backup in those situations where he will need it, for there are people who can take him. But I would try to work him in- he has a glorious profile.

hmmm im really stuck on this one :/ ....

Ive swapped the Witch King for the Undying (for more magical support), taken out the Morgul Stalkers, swapped the Black Guard captain for Shagrat and put in 3 more orcs with spears. This look good?

Now your looking much better, the Undying and Shagrat pair well I think, though the Udying will further benefit buy swapping an Orc Captain for a budget Ringwraith. And it would be good to swap your Orcs with shields for more Orcs with spears and use the spearmen to support the Black Numenoreans and Bkack Guards.

About the budget ringwraith, would i not be losing too much combat ability and might with him? The Undying is probably the most magicaglly potent ringwraith so would he really need the support?

The Undying's magic becomes more potent, well longer lasting, if another caster is within 6" of him. It's not like you are short on Might pts anway, and you still have Shagrat, a Spider Queen and Black Numenorean Marshal to do your fighting. You could try it how it os first if you want.
