The tournament was great and there were lots of people. I had a lot of fun and I'm very very pride of my army

I prefere the one you used for the tournament for a "winning" idea but for a fun idea the new list is a million times better

Well done on the tournament! Congrats!

Now, about the new list- in terms of basic warriors, this one is superior, with a greater number of Knights and Sons. Elladan and Elrohir do have their advantages, however, their main disadvantage is that they (if I recall correctly) cannot use two-swords on horseback- which means that you won't be getting any more attacks than an elven captain on horse. True, it does get you more might, but there is that small trade-off. Eowyn is very nice, but not nearly as nice as her brother.

As for the list being better or not, I would say that it's about the same as the previous, because the troop quality makes up for the slight (comparatively speaking) lack that either Elladan or Elrohir would have compared one-to-one with Eomer. The armies would operate very similarly, except that I (were I your opponent) would, in the new list, direct all magic at Imrahil, because he is your single-best model. In the first list, Eomer takes some of that pressure off.

But that is just my analysis of the two of them, comparatively. Either one would be fun to play with!

Riders cant ditch their bows in the current rules and your limit is per Alliance not army and doesnt count Heroes
you have 14 Warriors in your Rohan Warbands with 8 Bows

Only the riders of rohan who have the bow in their hands are considered armed with bow. This is by GW.

IN LoME yes as could Khand horsemen and metal Harad raiders, but it's not mentioned in Warbands, thus all Riders of Rohan regardless of whether bow is in hand or on back have bows, unless house ruled, otherwise, or overruled by a tournament. Maybe that is the case?

I think only Outriders on foot are useful, they are rubbish mounted IMO.

Just checked the doubles rules pack and it is not mentioned... odd

Gw has already done the FAQs of Warbands and no mention of such an errata.

Note: the demo list in every book even has 5 Riders and 12 Warriors of Rohan

A very simple way to get around the situation, if you concede to the current arguments, is to simply, imo, bring more Sons of Eorl.

As for the lists previously posted, I gave my thoughts above, which no one has really decided to challenge in any way yet. Excepting the bow thing.

All riders of Rohan technically have bows, though most people play that only those with bows out actually 'have' them and can use them in the battle. Which, imo, makes sense, though apparently GW might now disagree (though it was originally their distinction).

So, in short, yes, redshields, being riders of Rohan, have bows. Unless the book says otherwise.

ok, I got the point. you are right. at the tournament there was a rule like the hold system GW's faq for the riders of rohan with bows.
I think I will change the list in that way, what do you think?
