I've played two games now so I have a question.

In the shoot phase can those supporting with spears/pikes be shot at by the forces of good?

Supports are not in the fight, therefor they can be shot at, and they do not continue on if the person they support calls a heroic fight and moves on.

They also cannot be killed by the models in combat unless that model is Sauron with his special rule.
