Metal Men of Numenor with Swords???

I'm afraid I can't help but be skeptical. Aside from the bar they stand on, those four swordsmen look exactly like the plastics, but with a shiny metal color scheme - they even look like they might be smaller than the other metals.
And they have plastic shields.

I really hope my cynicism proves wrong on this, DMS.

Newline and the actors had final approval of the sculpts. There are probably other reject prototypes out there. Peter Jackson wanted 25mm for his personal collection.I am not in the least surprised they are smaller, As for the slota bar it is marked New line so of course it is a different from production.
As for skeptical, Sure there are lots of counterfeits out there. They are more likely to be commons so as not to attract attention.That is one of the main reason some of you e bay junkies complain about the quality of GW metals.

Personally I reckon they're fake but I could be wrong. Hopefully DMS wins the auction if he wants them, that way we can all see if they're in fact the real deal.

May be, may be not. They are certainly unauthorized release.The were most likely given away instead of destroyed.

£50.00 was the absolute highest I was willing to go - they went for £50.13 + P & P.

I buy all my minis from eBay (in Australia games workshop is far too expensive, converted $ its 25 pounds for 1 box of 12 warriors)

Things to watch for:
1. a seller always seems to have the same OOP rare miniature.
2. no bases
3. primed black( to hide 5 and 6)
4. lots of the same figure
5. wrong maternal (lead instead of tin) or tin when they should be lead
6. soft detail
7.no returns.
There are some reliable used figure sources on ebay they except returns.

A shame as I was interested to know about their quality but I think you have been lucky to miss out.

As for the 100% feedback part, I expect the models are fine in the short run when feedback is given (and they look convincing) but I expect any foul play in the production of the model and its decline would show more say 6 months down the line or something like that (and you can't change ebay feedback then, I don't think?).
